I am using Becker. I failed audit on my first try because I underestimated it. On my 2nd try, I scored in the 90's. Here's what you need to do pass, read carefully:
1. Skip the lectures (you've already seen them once, you already took all the side notes and made all the colorful cute highlites… no need to torture yourself any further)
2. Read the book, focus only the areas you've highlighted. Once you read a section, do the assigned MCQ's and the SIMS per section (A1, then A2, etc)…don't skip the Ancillary questions! For audit, you need all the MCQ practice you can get!
Becker tends to repeat a lot of the same questions in AUD, maybe not the exact same wording, but definitely the same concept. That being said, as you're going through the MCQ's, mark only the ones that you feel are 1) unrepeated; 2) very difficult and help you understand a concept…you should mark about 50 to 60% of MCQs per topic. The questions you've marked you need to have completely down and memorized.
3. About 1.5 weeks before your test, you have already done all the MCQ's, and SIMS. This is where your real task begins. Go through every single topic again, and do ONLY the MCQs you've marked during your first round. As you are going through the MCQ's again, take very good notes based on the MCQs you've marked. This task will take awhile and it will be streanuous, so you need to make sure you go HAM on it.
4. You're done making all your notes based on marked MCQ's from A1-A5. No need to look at Becker anymore except to practice the SIMS and do the Final Exams (do both of them, repeat them until you score in the 80's).
5. Read your notes over and over and over and over.
6. Becker is enough to pass AUD. But if you feel you need more practice, get the Wiley TB and practice some more (especially SIMS)
7. Take your time on exam day. 4 hours is more than enough for AUD, READ the MCQs to avoid making silly mistakes. Leave 1.5-2 for the SIMS and use the research tab!!! No matter how “basic” or “common sense” the Sims may seem, use every single second you have to look for answers.
*P.S. I have the a copy of the notes I took while doing MCQ's. Let me know if you want them.
