I am SO sure that I’ll pass the AUD. I used Ninja MCQ, Ninja Book supplement with Becker. But once I sit in the exam, I felt the MCQs are so tricky, however Sims seems like easier to me. I sit in AUD last year this time and failed with 65 because I didn’t study at all. this time, I put more time into it and I understood the concept very well, but still failed with 73. Somehow, I felt the difficulties of MCQs have been increased. Maybe I did’t study enough, does anyone else have the same feeling? need suggestions desperately!

I'm in the same boat… I walked out of AUD sure that I had passed it… I had put in the study time, I was trending well on my practice tests… my SIMs went well, I thought… and then I failed with a 70. Very discouraging.

I'm going to start pounding MC's tonight, and hit hard the stuff that my letter says I did poorly on, and retake as soon as I can in July.

I feel like AUD is so luck of the draw in terms of questions and SIMs. I was pretty sure I was ready during my first try and got a 73. I had done all the MCQs and Sims. Even the second time, I thought I was ready — but got some really, really tricky Sims — results even showed strong on MCQs and weak on SIMs. And 3rd time out, got a 94. Studying the 2nd and 3rd time was good and reinforced the material. Ultimately though, I got a few SIMs that I knew and a couple of verbatim ones and knocked out a 94.

I did the same as you. Thought I passed, but ended up with a 73. I just went back to studying, and put in more study time than my first go-round. Passed my retake with an 80. Keep your head up and keep studying, and you will pass next time.

I did the same thing. I studied so hard for AUD and got a 74. That was frustrating. Just gotta get back in there and hit it hard again.

I heard the the reason why AUD have high failing rate is that because most people perform well on it which set the curve so high (I know the cause and result sound exactly the opposite, which defeats the conclusion, but that's what I heard).

Is that true? Could someone confirm? I'm gonna be taking AUD while working full time as I have a job lined up for me end of July (big 4). So, I am not sure how that would go..

not true – no curve – read the psychometrics on the AICPA website

I also just got a 73!!!! The frustrating part is I felt the same as all of you walking out. And the even more frustrating part is that this is my retake after passing over 18 months ago which expired.

Owell this test is completely doable and if we got 73s or higher its just a matter of tuning up the studying in weak areas. July is only a couple weeks out.

ijustwant76, for the 3rd time, did you change any study strategy? or only because you got lucky with easier Sims? Thank you!

I guess I am not alone, getting 73 and 74 is so frustrated! there is no other way around but heads down and keep working on it until we pass it.

I was pretty confident with AUDIT, especially with the MCQs. A little more shakey on the SIMs and thought I did well enough to get 75, but wasn't even close. I know it was the SIMs that got me. I used primarily NINJA and did well with the practice Exams (80 and 83). I don't know how to study for this next time. What's everyone else strategy?

I took AUD in February. I had just passed REG then BEC consecutively and felt great about AUD. I got my worst score ever on that AUD exam.

Retook AUD last month and walked out feeling terrible, wasn't expecting to get a 75 (which I received today).

It is hard to predict scores. Don't give up!

I went into my third attempt of audit very confident and I was confident after I finished that I had passed. Turned out that I got a 70. I was heartbroken. I was using Becker but now I purchased the ninja mcqs that come with 85 sims. My review report for the 70 outlined that I did well and above average for the mcs in mostly all sections but did poorly on the sims. My goal is to cram as many mcqs as possible a day and to do as many sims. Any other suggestions on how to improve on sims?

@misoc23 , the Authoritative Literature was very useful for the AUD sims. Don't overlook that tool.

Agree, learn how to use the Authoritative Literature. Sign up at AICPA. It's free. You'll likely get at least 2 questions other than the research question where it would be very helpful. A co-worker said he had 4 plus the research. What luck!

The questions getting harder is usually a good sign that perhaps you're doing well on them. How were your sims? Perhaps that's the section that made a difference between passing and failing. AUD was my last test, and I used Becker to prepare for it. I had thought that perhaps I had failed terribly but ended up with the highest of all my scores….a 98!!!

Don't lose hope. Just hang in there and sure enough you will pass!!!

    REG - Passed
    FAR - Passed
    BEC - Passed
    AUD - Passed
