    I know I just need 75 but I failed once and this time I want to prepare as perfect as possible.

    I see some people got 99 and wonder how they studied? Any tips?

    I thought I knew the material thoroughly but failed with 64.

    This time I am using Ninja MCQ and I am getting high 70’s already. I am retaking the exam in early Aug.

    So if I improve Ninja score to 90’s do you think I can pass this time?

    A: 64 71 88!
    F: 72 69 65 81!
    B: 70

    Haha, if I had a time machine I would maybe go back to the beginning and try harder so I could shoot for the EWS award like WaivingMyHands_ALOT did. I never thought I would even do as well as I did.

    Truthfully though, I bet the extra 3+ average points I would have needed would have required like 3 times as much studying so I am more than happy with how I did and being done with it.

    FAR - 90
    REG - 90
    BEC - 91
    AUD - 99

    It just occured to me that the reason the exam is out of 99 points instead of 100 might that a candidate would otherwise be able to score a total of 300 points (minimum score to pass the entire exam) after taking only three sections.

    Just a theory.

    FAR 77 12/9/14
    AUD 89 2/24/15
    BEC 81 3/10/15
    REG 71 5/27/15 83 8/25/15 (it's done!!!)

    Exams not really scored that way though. Its not like you could get 76, 76, 76, and 72 (total score of 300) and have a pass on all four sections. You'd need to retake the section you got a 72 on.

    @Hari & Waving

    Which Aud parts would you recommend studying heavily?

    You guys have good scores on Far.. How did you guys study???

    I failed Far with 72. Very frustrating.

    A: 64 71 88!
    F: 72 69 65 81!

    You need to know the audit report structure. When certain opinions are issued, who has responsibility over different areas (management vs. auditors), differences between audit vs. review vs. compilation. Anything to do with ethics is likely tested so make sure to review. Be familiar with COSO framework.

    Do not worry about sampling. Not likely to be tested.

    Make sure you are comfortable navigating the authoritative literature for the SIMS. That way, even if you get a SIM you have no idea what the answer is, you may be able to find it in the authority and get full points.

    As far as FAR goes, watch the lecture/read the material if you have a study guide, work as many MCQs as you can. Review if there is time.

    I would say FAR is a pretty even split in terms of material. No one section is tested super heavy, nor is any section tested very lightly. So you pretty much need to cover everything during your studying.

    But realize that FAR is a mile wide and an inch deep. By that I mean that you need to know a little about everything, but you do NOT need to know anything in super detail. As long as you know enough to weed out the obvious incorrect answers and get down to 1 or 2 remaining choices on the MCQ, you have a good shot at passing.

    I also would not stress or even cover the SIMS during your review. I think your time is better spent reviewing MCQs or reading material. But you should be comfortable with navigating the FASB code for the research question.

    Why would anyone want to study so much that they get a 99 when they can study much less and get a 75? I studied for five weeks for AUD (which was, IMO, the absolute worst test to study for- boring) and got an 88. I could have studied for half of that time and gotten by with a 75.

    Two reasons:

    1. EWS award carries perks. Cash bonus being one of them.

    2. Didn't really study for a 99. Just studied the way I would normally study and happened to score high. Didn't do anything crazy. Just watched lectures/read material and did MCQs.

    For some of us, the whole EWS thing is completely out of reach 😉

    Congrats though!

    @Wavings,

    Thank you for your advice 🙂 Now I can see where to focus!

    But do you think Ninja MCQ for Far is more difficult than the actual exam? Now I can see that I need to know everything but not too in detail for Far but Ninja MCQ is difficult!

    What was your Ninja trending score before taking the exam?

    @Juuustin,

    Juuusting, the score 98 is just like 99 🙂

    @Audit_this

    I can't believe you were managed to do that. I studied much longer than you did and still failed. I was so shocked after I got the grade report. So I decided to study like getting a 99 to make sure I get a 75 at least 🙂

    F: 72 69 65 81!
