Hello guys,

I’m on to what could possibly be the last of my CPA exams (AUD) – after passing REG, FAR, and waiting for my score on BEC. I have the Becker CPA review and began studying for AUD but for some reason feel too overwhelmed with so much information and memorization. I’d like to hear about those of you who used Becker for the AUD exam. How did you approach it? Did you read the whole book? How much time did you spend studying? What areas should I focus my attention more? How would you compare your AUD experience with the other exams? Was it easier or not? I will begin working as an Assurance Associate by the end of the year but have no practical experience with AUD. I will truly appreciate any inputs!! Thanks in advance.

When I studied for AUD, I mostly used the lectures (I'm an auditory learner personally) and filled the book in where I had difficulty understanding a concept. I feel like audit is not as detailed-intense compared to REG or FAR, but it is still very memory based. I really focused my time understanding the bigger concepts (internal controls, the various audit reports, as well as the audit process in general). However, audit is the most connected section in my opinion, so really understanding the bigger picture on why the audit is done the way it is will help during studying. Audit is more of a flow of actions (from audit planning to audit opinion) and trying to understand the flow will help greatly in understanding the materials!

As far as time, I spent a full month of studying (3 to 4 hours a day) into the section and felt like that was enough time. Really try to understand the concepts the first time you go through the materials and think of it as the “audit process.” Good luck on the section!!

MCQ, MCQ, MCQ for AUD- I did over 5,000 (probably over 6,000) and got an 83

I agree with jstay. Cram MCQ. Most are pretty straight forward and require no calculations. You can bang out a couple hundred a day.

I went ballistic on MCQ and scored Higher on all categories, save for one on the MC portion of AUD.
