How much time to study for AUD retake?

I took audit 3 months ago and got a 70. I’m retaking it in 10 days and haven’t studied much. If I don’t do the lectures and simply re-study/memorize and do multiple choice, is 10 full days of studying going to be enough to pass Audit?

I’m not going to be working or anything, so I can potentially study from like 8am to midnight each day…Any suggestions on a study plan and how much time to spend on studying vs. multiple choice?

Personally, I went through each chapter…sometimes skipped lectures, but read each chapter in the book.

However, if you feel comfortable with it…you can skip it and just keep doing MCQs.

Do all the MCQs in passmaster (at least 3x), get a final review or Wiley test bank! Do the Final exam 2-3 times and you should be good.

That's what I'm doing and hope that is sufficient. Good Luck!

Ok Thanks, I just figure that the lectures are a complete waste of time unless you don't really understand the material, so I'm gonna focus on MC. I work in tax, but its not like I don't understand audit. I just took it the first time during busy season and pretty much did 25% of the multiple choice and no practice exams.

How much time should I allot myself to take all the multiple choice questions 3 times though? Thats the killer part right there.

I absolutely think you can do it if you devote all day to it. You're already familiar with the material, you just need some refinement and drilling. Go for it.

It takes me about 2.5hrs to do 300 questions. I take that long because I take notes in middle if I get something wrong or if I'm confused. I'll go to the chapter and read that topic over. Also, I get so distracted and can't do more than 50questions at a time.

Do two chapters a day. And each day, you do a new chapter…go back and take random quizes from previous chapter!

Do the final exam as well. I broke down my final exams and would do 60MCQs a day (plus passmaster MCQs) instead of doing the whole exam. I'm familiar with exam settings so I don't need to time myself or anything.

Basically, do as much MCQs as possible! Good Luck, let's get AUD behind us!

Did you get the results as far as weaknesses – areas to work on? Perhaps retake a practice test to see where you are at, then work on those areas. 70 isn't bad for someone who did not devote much time.

I got my 71 on AUD on Sep 18 and used every single available second between then and Oct 19 to study. I want to be done more than I can say. Did it help or work out that way is still TBD.

@mla1169 I'd bet money you're done. You could spend this time getting the Ethics course out of the way.

So at this point, my 8 day play is to spend 1 full day (15 hrs) on each chapter. Then 3 full days in a final review (one practice exam each day). I'm pretty much done with chapter 1, so as long as I can complete each chapter in 15 hrs, then I think I'll be ready by the 31st. Thanks for the suggestions and let me know if anyone has any other ideas.

    @hopeful

wow, that is great. It takes a lot longer to do 300 mcq's. I am studying for REG now, but have to put on my Audit hat in 10 days. I am not looking forward to this one. This one by far is my hardest exam.

Katie the ethics exam isnt a licensing requirement in MA, its strictly a CPE requirement after licensing. This is a good thing becuase as it turns out my final M.S. Accounting class is the most intense/demanding class Ive taken in the last 8 years. However I have 49 more days until I am not a student anymore (for the first time since 6/03) and THAT is exciting!

You're so lucky! No longer being a student and being licensed… how will you handle the euphoria???

I am told my kids have a list they've compiled of ways in which they have been “neglected” (camping, sleepover, baking, driving lessons, etc) to keep the euphoria reasonable lol!

I would start over from scratch. Don't even look at the score analysis thing, that gives you a false sense of accomplishment. “Oh I scored better in this section I don't have study it again, ill just review it, ill focus on another” you will be surprised how much u forget in a few days.
