    I started studying for FAR in mid December and took the section on the 28th of February. Every day I wake up at 4:30 a.m. and get to work by 5:30. For the next two and half hours I watch videos and take notes. At 8 works starts, usually during the day I have free time to do 50-100 MCQ at my desk. Every day I go to the gym, I’ll do cardio for 30 to 50 minutes while reading the Becker text. Then back to work and do more MCQ and also have the Becker lecture running in the background. I never study at night, because my head hurts too bad to function.

    Every weekend I wake up at 6am run to Starbucks and then head back to work.I don’t study at home because there’s too may distractions for me. I Hit videos, notes and MCQs for 8 hours. I’ve never taken a day off, my girlfriend doesn’t understand why I wake up so early or why I don’t sleep in. I tell her “no pain no gain” and “thank god for Aderol”.

    I just started AUD, praying that I have passed FAR so I don’t have to open the text ever again. For AUD I’m trying a new technique. Watch the videos over and over and over again before moving to the MCQs and next topic. I hoping this will reinforce the material, because auditing is a bit foreign to me. For the FAR section I watched the videos once or twice then moved to MCQs. Most of the time I didn’t have a good grasp of the material before moving on.

    I understand minimorty has a hard-on for me but I'm sick and tired of reading his responses to everything I write. Considering I have already proven successful on these exams with a personal pass rate of 50% so far, I shouldn't have to read his condescending and useless posts everywhere. The OP left a question and I answered it. If he doesn't care about what I have to say, that's his decision and I respect that. But I don't need another user leaving his 2 cents on my post as if I or the OP asked for it.

    And what I find hilarious is how he can flame me for failing an exam and then turn around and support others who have failed upwards of 3x for one section. He's a hypocritical and self-righteous maniac who is not needed on these forums.

    I'd say I have decent study habbits. On weekdays I hit the gym in the morning and look at flash cards on the elliptical for 30. I usually look at them on the bus to work and try to get in about 1-2 hours of multiple choice in at night. I usually make Friday a drinking night and put in 10 hours between Saturday/Sunday.

    Aud 80 (Nov 11)
    BEC 79 (Jan 12)

    @goodlucktoeveryone

    I do see your point about doing a ton of MCQ's rather then getting burnt out by spending too much time on less… I was getting a little burnt out, so I decided to spend a little less time going into great detail trying to understand every single one of them and so far its working out well; good change of pace.

    Well, back to the point of this thread @Scottie your study habits tell me that my study habits are freaking losers.

    Like, damn son – was that even a serious question? Power to you, though! Wish I had that kind of willpower!

    @cpawannabe

    exactly. Its better to cover a broader range of topics and train your brain into seeing as many different kinds of MCQ as you can because you never know what they will throw at you come test time

    good luck

    Got an 88 on FAR. All the hard word paid off. I wasn't the smartest in college but accounting interests me. Seriously if I can get an 88 on FAR then anyone can pass.

    @Everyone “If you take medicine for legit reasons then I'm not talking about you…” QUOTED FOR EMPHASIS

    I never said or implied ADD was a fictional illness… Some people really do need to take medicine for it.

    Nor did I say or imply that anyone who posted here really did not need to be on medication, who said they did.

    There are also people who abuse prescription drugs and even cocaine in an effort to score higher on an exam.

    I've seen people SNORT ritalin just to try to pass a test. Not sure why this is such a shock to people.

    Scottiet – I am so happy for you! You deserve this. I'm hoping I can say the same thing for REG & FAR in April.

    @Scottiet

    Your study schedule was very similiar to mine for FAR and AUD. Not so much for BEC and REG (can you tell? haha)

    Keep it up. If your g/f doesnt fully support you doing this, then she might not be the one for you! Besides, better to follow a schedule like this for a year rather than drag it out!

    Good luck!

    I'm trying to figure out a balance between my 40 hour a week job, studying fulltime for the exam, and having enough free time to spend with my wife. I study about 15 hours a week but it doesnt quite feel like enough and I'm still feeling burnt out.

    @MChro12 – I really like your study plan. The only problem I have is that I am a night person, not a morning person. I am having to dig really deep to make myself get up in the morning to exercise. I'm not there yet. I know exercise will be a key factor for my own personal study schedule as I go forward. I study about 2 or 3 hours a night during the week, relax/drink on Friday night, and study about 4 or 5 hours the rest of the weekend. I try to save a full day on the weekend for me and my wife to have together but I can tell that will not be possible as the exam gets closer.

    @misanthrope87 – You may say you're lazy but whatever you did seems to have worked for you. I hope my study plan is as successful as yours is for you.

    @scottiet – It sounds like you've got this under control. I also tried to study at work in the evenings and felt like a crackhead by the end of the day. I've been studying for about three months now and am constantly adjusting my study schedule. When I study at home I usually just play some classical music and it seems to do the trick as far as any other distractions are concerned. I will try your approach soon to come to the office early to watch videos then be done by the end of the work day.

    Thanks to everyone for sharing their study tips. This has been a great help.
