InactiveFor those who passed AUD, how did you prepare for it? I’m willing to try anything at this point.

Participant@Determined, I took AUD last week so I'm not sure if I passed or not but I'm curious what was your study strategy? I think that will help others figure out what may be going wrong. Also, what are your weak areas?

MemberMade 2 70s last year (May 30 & July 3). I studied with Wiley books and Wiley test bank. Frustrated, dejected and plus me and my wife had a baby so finding study time was difficult. Picked it back up in Feb 2015. Studied Wiley book and the Ninja MCQ and just found out I made 87. The Ninja MCQ were the difference. They were more difficult than Wiley and many of the same questions from the bank popped up on the exam.

InactiveI failed AUD with a 73, then got the Ninja Notes and got a 90. They really helped to focus my studying/memorizing. I have also heard great things about the MCQs. Also, make sure you have enough time to review (I usually took 2 weeks to review everything). My first test, I only took a few days for review. Having more time helped a ton! Good luck!

Inactivemaybe try getting the ninja aud book?? It helped me go from 69, 74 to a 92…. its much easier to read than wiley and you can read through it multiple times easily. It is only approx. 440 pages! also the blitz videos help as it is like a powerpoint lecture.

MemberI highly recommend trying the Ninja MCQ. I studied a total of 130 hours in right around 7 weeks. The first 5-6 weeks I used Becker (watched all of the lectures, and completed all of the homework and SIMS). If I didn't fully understand something I just kept moving along (but made note of it to come back to during review). During the 2 weeks leading up to the exam, I used Ninja MCQ, Blitz, & Audio. With AUD especially, I think that drilling MCQ's is the key to success. I read all of the explanations after answering a questions, even when I got it right.
I did not do ANY Becker progress tests because I couldn't stand having to wait until being completely finished to see the explanations of right/wrong answers. I think instant feedback is key with MCQ's, which is why I was really happy with Ninja.
Best of luck, you can do it!

ParticipantDetermined what have you been doing in terms of studying? Sometimes it helps to give feedback once people know what you are doing. The thread below, mostly the OP, that I have read over and over when I scored my 66 and gave myself a reality check.

ParticipantI think more than any other exam, Audit really requires some sort of public accounting experience. A lot of the content comes natural when you do it everyday. Other than that, I just used Becker and cranked out MC's. Good luck.

Member@Determined-what is your study process? I will let you know what worked for me but everyone learns differently. I have no public accounting or audit experience besides 1 college course, and I passed on the first try. After taking that college course, I thought Audit would be the hardest section for me because none of it clicked right away. Even while studying, I was struggling to really grasp the concepts. I do better with calculations and numbers than theory.
I used CPAExcel. I read the chapter, watched/listened to the lectures (which are a little dry but can really help if they go more in depth than the book) and took notes. After reading/watching all sections and taking notes, I did a review. I went back over the areas where I knew I struggled. I utilized the NINJA method which means I didn't do MCQs right after reading each section but waited until 2-3 weeks out. After review, I started hitting the NINJA MCQs and switching to WTB every so often to get different questions. I reviewed the NINJA progress reports and did extra MCQs on the areas that I was the weakest in.
I hope this helps! Good luck, you got this! You will find a method that works for you and crush this exam.

ParticipantDetermined_To_Succeed, I was going to tell you that If you feel that you are just trying to memorize all the concepts (Becker),but have no clue about the reason behind an Audit, you need Roger CPA. But I just noticed, you do have Roger,so now, you need to start memorizing concepts since you already know why you do an Audit.

MemberAUD was really hard x me too…
I used Yaeger CPA review Cram and listen every day even during the work hours when I could.
I did everysingle MCQ and Sim in Ninja. Set 30Questions and print when I did not get right. At least 90 MCQ and 7 Sim per day.
I read my notes and print MCQ every night before sleep.
YOU CAN DO THIS!!
FAR - 77 x2 Wiley book & no test bank
AUD - 83 x3 NINJA Test bank 3 time
REG - 80 x1 NINJA Test bank
BEC - 78 X2 NINJA Test bank ..done!!promesa cumplida mama -que llege al cielo 🙂

ParticipantPassed AUD on my 3rd try. Copied the Ninja notes WORD FOR WORD three times over. 10 pages per day. Somehow it drilled concepts into my head. Was also pounding out the MCQ.
