I’m hoping someone can help me. I sit for Audit on Monday as it marks my return to trying to pass the CPA exam after a 3-year hiatus. I understand that in 3 years the exam has changed ALOT since the last time I took them but I’m still feeling confident, EXCEPT FOR the simulations. What does 7 task-based simulations mean? Is it just one simulation that has 7 tabs within them = 7 questions or seven simulations with 5-7 tabs within them = 35 or 49 questions. And what about grading? Do they grade on each question or just an overall grade?

Each sim is a separate topic. One or two of the sims are research ones where you have to say where in the authoritative literature an answer to the question can be found. You can use the AL for any of the sims, and I highly recommend doing so.

Each sim (other than the research) will have a number of related questions– one of the examples in Becker was something like “what type of audit report should the auditor issue” and then there are 4 or 5 scenarios and you have to say which report is appropriate for each scenario.
