AnonymousInactiveI haven't taken it, and I don't think I ever will only because I usually just try to get done asap after that clock starts ticking!

kyndal93ParticipantDo they really let you step outside? I would love to be able to have a smoke during the break.
July 6, 2017 at 1:28 pm #1582795
CPAIN2K17Participant@kyndal I have never read anything that says you can't, and I definitely went outside during my last test.

smoothiezguyParticipant@NinjaSlayer – It didn't seem nearly as difficult as REG and I finished with an hour left on the clock. Overall, I didn't feel too bad about any of it, but then they say that's when you've likely failed, so I have no clue. I just try not to think about it until the time comes.

VDPParticipantI took FAR on July 3 and was allowed to access my locker for anything except looking at my phone or any notes. The Prometric employee specifically said not to leave the building (i.e. go outside). I ate a snack, drank some water, went to the bathroom, then walked a few laps around the floor that Prometric is on to get the blood flowing again.

AnonymousInactiveAll of my experience is before the change. I used a break for audit because I was nervous and had only studied for 4 days and drank way too much water before I started. I literally felt the urge to go as I was typing in the launch code, so I sped through the 1st testlet and went.
I also used a break in FAR. It was March 10, 2017 and this was the last one I needed so my thoughts were everywhere. By the time I got to the last MC teslet my vision was blurry and I was just unfocused. I took a break and got myself together so I could try to crush the simulations.
I successfully passed them all my first time. Moral of the story, if you need a break take one. Being distracted can take up more time than a break

tygolferParticipantFAR was my first test in the old format, and I took 3 breaks. Probably shouldn't have since I didn't end up finishing the simulations…did well enough on what I did finish to pass luckily.
Learned my lesson and didn't take any breaks during BEC and REG, and finished with plenty of time to spare.
Took AUD in the new format, and flew threw the first SIM section cause I had to take a massive dump lol. I ended up taking like a 20 minute break, so only 5 counted against me. That 15 minutes probably saved my life and everyone in the room, because I would rather have pooped my pants than lost 20 minutes of test time haha.

HollyParticipantI specifically asked about what I could and could not do. They have a covered area just outside the building and they said I could stay there, but not wander around pretty much.

PeteParticipantI wish I had a 15 minute break, when I took REG.
tygolfer, I was you, but in the old test format. Around the Mid test-let section, my stomach turned into Mount Vesuvius. Toxic gas needed to be release and released it was, into the room. Luckily, in my case, it was just radioactive gas, nothing solid.
I was seriously contemplating going to the bathroom mid-test-let, risking the forfeiture of my exam. Luckily, I valued passing the test more than my ego. I feel bad for the other test takers in that room.
B=84 This exam was such a b**** that I thought I failed-don't know how these things work

cpacParticipantI took it when I just recently took AUD! It was really nice. It was after the first TBS and I had a little pack of almonds I brought with me and some water that my test center provided. It was nice to walk around a bit, get some energy, then go back into the test. I only took 10 minutes.
July 15, 2017 at 7:45 pm #1586158
Want2BeCPAsoBadParticipantSo I did take a break and it was great. I had some natural dissolving pills to calm my nerves and they dissolved in 5 minutes and went back inside to test. It allow me to stretch my legs and walk around the floor. I was NOT allowed to go outside but I definitely think that it is a great way to get a second wing and continue to test.
Now waiting on results …………

AnonymousInactiveYes, I have both in the old and new. The new one the 15 minute break doesn't count against you. You can go to your locker, food, bathroom and the works!! And yes, I did pop an aleve to deal with the headache

AnonymousInactiveI took the break today and had some almonds to keep me going

hecubus330ParticipantI took the break during REG. So nice to have snacks and not lose time to pee. I never could make it through the whole exam without a bathroom break.

AccountingbeansParticipantMan I'm definitely gonna come prepared for this 15 min break. I'm thinkin snacks, water, maybe have a cup of tea already made and left in the locker for a slight caffeine boost or something, advil. Might as well take advantage and re-nourish. I find that towards the end of the exams I've just felt really malnourished: dehydrated, hungry, starting to get a headache, etc despite hydrating and eating beforehand. Must just be the stress and staring at the computer screen.
