    Hello All,

This is not my first post and ain’t gonna be the last one. I have asked several times on this forum and here I am again asking you all the same question again I guess. I have observed that quite a few people on this forum have been struggling their way out to pass audit, there have been those ninja’s who successfully conquered audit and help us to pass this mighty one .

So hope it benefits my other Audit ninja’s

So I just got my audit results last night and I failed miserably with 69 ( prior score 73-72) I studied like nobody’s business. My schedule

    1) read the Becker book and the Wiley book and understand what I read.

    2) solved mcq’s and took 30 mcq test topic by topic

    3) rewrote my own notes and ninja notes and utilized ninja audio in every spare time.

    4) also did mcq’s from cpareviewforfree

I put so much effort in other parts I would have passed and I have passed them at first try except REG.

But I don’t know what to do differently this time around because even if I am prepared my score does not show that .Yes I have to agree my weakest area are sims and looking for ways to master them

Materials used Becker review and final review, Wiley test bank and book,Ninja 10 point combo.

Should I buy Rogers cram and Gleim test prep & Sim wizard I am considering to buy both. Don’t have that much money but since this is going to be my last shot to save my FAR credit.

I don’t mean to just post it again and again bad bug you guys but have no one else to consult other than you ‘ll . I know you all have been through this .

I want to start fresh forget the failures and Just want to work harder than last time that’s all. best past of all this is my family support they still believe in me and that’s has given me this ignition to start,

FAR- 79 -->Becker self study, Final review & Flashcards
REG -72-->Becker ,76-->Becker plus Wiley test bank
    AUD- 73 Becker,72-->Becker+Wiley,69-->Added ninja notes,89 --> Added Gleim review
BEC- 84 Becker plus Wiley Test bank

    I am Done !!!!

@ G3 I have been reading your posts and yes Sims s what is breaking me.

@mla1169 Yes this time i left myself 1.45 hours and was able to utilize AL for one sim. 2 sims were from FAR hence I dont know if i could have used . One of the sims was a repeat on both my prior exams and you know what I had found the way to solve them and I did the same on exam.Research question i was able to find i guess. Other 2 sims I tried to utilize AL but they were mostly application based not directly to be found in AL

Also looking for an answer takes like lot of time in the ACTUAL exam so what i will do this time is use AL while solving SIMS when i practice them.

REG -72-->Becker ,76-->Becker plus Wiley test bank
    AUD- 73 Becker,72-->Becker+Wiley,69-->Added ninja notes,89 --> Added Gleim review
BEC- 84 Becker plus Wiley Test bank

Jeff I really appreciate your replies it really makes feel better.

Ok I will do what I have been doing. Already started watching videos and starting fresh.

Also these exams are quite unpredictable you never know what lot you will get. I think for Audit Sims are very vital.I wish for my first audit exam I had just performed better on Sims.

    Anyways no use of regrets.

Be sure you have your legal pads armed and ready and write killer notes as you watch the videos.

Not sure if you have the Survival Guide, but it will help: https://www.another71.com/cpa-exam-survival-guide/

I failed audit the first time, and raised my score by 24 points the second time I took it and passed. I think what Jeff said is key – rewatch the videos and then do the Ninja notes. Also, for the sims (I think my poor performance on the sims contributed to my failing score the first time), I went to my very first intro to accounting textbook from college (if you don't have it, you can look at an accounting for dummies book or something similar in the library) and spent about 5-6 hours reviewing basic journal entries and concepts. Since the audit sims test you on audit stuff, but also usually expect you to be able to do basic journal entries as well. Not sure if that's helpful or not, but it's just my experience with audit. Good luck, and don't give up!

    BEC: PASSED!
    FAR: PASSED!
    AUD: PASSED!
    REG: PASSED!

Jeff as I am watching these videos again I can just imagine how much I have to write. Yes I have the Survival guide and will go back once again and read it.

@katieeCPA Yes it surely helps. i am good with Journal entries I think its just the way a sim is presented like a big mountain and u feel overwhelmed. I just need to find some way to climb that mountain. Will go back to FAR book and brush up.

Also one more thing i would like to share with you all I have been watching this particular channel on youtube–Amanda loves auditing, She explains audit stuff in such simplicity although she refers to Australian std but the stuff and concepts remain the same.

I never knew i would have such tough time with audit. Never underestimate your enemy šŸ˜ But lets just say i will try to fall in love with it and explore more each time im with it.My teacher once said dont hate what you study it will just make things complex.

nishvik- I agree with what everyone said above. I would not buy additional materials because they can be overwhelming so take a fresh approach with your current set. Go into audit like you have never seen it before. Take your own notes from start to finish. When I got a question wrong, I wrote the whole thing down with the answer to make a giant set of weak topics. It was a pain, but it really helped me. After you have gone through your notes, the ninja notes help to tie the whole audit process together. I also liked the audit questions from cpareviewforfrree.com because they were complicated, just like the ones on the actual audit test.

I loved audit when I took it in school, but the audit exam was vicious. The study materials read like a dry handbook. I am similar to you because I preferred the computations from FAR and REG. When I took my second audit exam, it was like they tailored it for me specifically. Everything I studied from my first exam was not on the second one. Two of my SIMs were worst case scenario- type of questions. It sucks, but it's how this whole testing process works. Looking back, I learned a lot more about myself and how I study by not passing audit.

Good luck to you. You can knock audit out in 2014.

@nishvik I'm so sorry!!!!!!!!! I had a score decline from audit #2 to #3 and I studied my tail off for #3. It's really tough when you put the work in and actually go backwards. I was devastated when it happened to me and it took me about 2 weeks to figure out what the problems were. I had memorized rather than learned the questions in the test bank and ended up with a false sense of security going into my exam. I hadn't set out to do that but I did all the questions in the bank twice and drilled down on certain topics 2-3 times. I was so encouraged by my high test bank scores and was completely broadsided.

Things I did differently between audit #3 and #4 were to cut myself off from the test bank! I picked up the Wiley text book and read that dry, boring, awful text from cover to cover and worked through every MCQ and SIM. I made diagrams of the audit process and the various transaction cycles. I took legal size copy paper and would put a major topic at the top and branch out everything relating to it…think of how a family tree looks. It may sound bizarre but it helped me visualize the audit process because NOTHING else was helping my tax mind wrap around the bizarro world of auditing.

I'm sorry that you are having a rough time with audit but you are not alone! Keep up the positive attitude and don't give up!!!!! You can do this!!!!!!!!!!!!!! šŸ™‚

@ Mintsrgood when I got my score all I could relate is to your story because I have been reading your posts. Thanks for replying and advising have asked this question on the forum before but you all encourage a lot.

Yeah for my third attempt I was scoring good on test bank so I thought I got this time. Well my exam was going good till the point I came to sims and I knew after exams the Sims can make or break me.

I know u said in earlier posts to use AL while practicing sims before exams ,Can you elaborate on that.Coz on exams that takes hell lot of time and also u can't find answers for most of the sims. Only exam where I used AL successfully was at my first audit attempt where sims were direct but I must have messed up in MCQ's. After that Sims ended up being dreadful.

    Thanks once again.
