Getting bogged down by the wordiness of questions

(Possibly relevant: I am using the NIU CPA review & Gleim MC questions)

As stated in the title, I am trying to study for AUD and feel lost in a sea of words when doing MC questions. I can barely tell what the questions are asking for and some of the answer choices are equally long and confusing, making it difficult for me to determine the “best” or “most correct” answer. I know that this is just an evil testing ploy from the examiners, but it wasn’t a problem for me in the other 3 exams, only this one. Of course, on paper it’s easier to underline important details and key phrases, but I know I won’t have that luxury for the actual exam.

Is anyone else having trouble with this as well, or are there any suggestions on how to overcome this from those who have passed AUD?

    FAR: 77
    BEC: 74, 73, 80!
    REG: 81
    AUD: 66 (study for 1 week = fail), 79

    YOU CAN DO THIS! 🙂

Read the end of the question that actually indicates what is being asked first. Then go back and read the whole question and extract what you actually need to answer the question. Make sure you understand what is being asked before you do this. A lot of the more difficult, wordy questions often contain superfluous information to confuse you.
