For those of you who passed Audit … I’ve read many different things about the audit and it seeming like a FAR exam in regards to the simulations. I have passed FAR but would anyone recommend skimming back through the book for basic calculations ?

I absolutely agree. I took Audit in mid January and I think three of my sims could have also been on the FAR exam. While the topics were not out of this planet, It's been half a year since I studied for FAR so I couldn't exactly remember the info.
I just got my score yesterday and I scored “weaker” on the sims; luckily I somehow managed to get a 75.

Anywho, I think FAR covers so much information that if I had to review that section for the AUD exam, I wouldn't even know where to start. I think you would probably be wasting your time though because even if you do have FAR related sims, what are the odds that you will review that particular FAR question?

Yeah that is true … if I got a pension or a fund/governmental accounting question again I would cry – I was just potentially thinking of skimming through refreshers of journal entries and a high level of the problems that becker actually has in the chapters but nothing more than that –

If anyone has done that please let me know

Ah, maybe reviewing journal entries would be helpful.
I honestly doubt you would see the dreaded govt accounting. Lol

    at GSDD512–

I took audit On Feb 1—score release is later this month.

Did I understand correctly ? you passed AUD with weaker in SIMS ? what was the MCQ breakdown? How did you feel about the exam leaving the prometric ? Just curious because I feel good about MCQ but uneasy about SIMS. some were just out of this world difficult.

    thanks

Shawn: Good luck later this month. Hope you receive good news.

That's correct, I scored weaker on sims. On the MC questions, I scored comparable on all the sections except one, where I was stronger; so overall I scored comparable on multiple choice.
To be honest with you, Im surprised I passed. I've heard people say that you must score at least comparable on sims to pass. And it's not like I was stronger on the mc.

I also felt good about the mc questions. I mean I did flag quite a few but guess that means I was doing well. I definitely felt like I didn't do well on the sims. I think I pretty much guessed on two of them. Walking out of there, I just honestly feared I wouldn't pass because of the sims. I cleared didn't do well but apparently enough to pass. Don't be discouraged, maybe one of those out-of-the-world questions was a pre-test.

What did you think about REG? I see that you passed and I will be taking Reg in March. Are you in public accounting?

I passed AUD and FAR before 2014 but have them both expired thereafter. So when I took AUD last December, I was worried about how much I remember computational problems related to FAR.

If you are using Becker, check out A4 appendices, ABSOLUTELY USEFUL!
Commit to memory FINANCIAL RATIOS (a must!).
Also, pay attention to adjusting entries at Appendix 4.

I'm not using Becker and I haven't taken FAR yet…you all are making me worry that I'll be at a disadvantage. Yikes!

I'm tired of operating in fear and mediocrity. It's time to try. It's time to do. It's time to go.

AnasAG: They give you a report whether you pass or not, at least in CA they do. They are useless though, They only tell you how you performed in comparison to people who scored between 75 and 80 so you don't get any real feedback.
In your case, just be happy with your 91 and move on.

    GSD512-

your responses give me some hope re AUD. To answer you question about REG—I took it several months ago and passed with 75. I only studied 9 days b/c tax season ended last year around April 17/18(?) and took exam end of April. Please note I am in tax at a public accounting firm so REG was the most familiar to me and easiest. I take BEC this march as a retake. I got a 74 back in OCT 2016. It was heartbraking
