So just like so many others – yesterday I received my audit score – a 74. And this was my 2nd time – the first time I failed with a 73. These scores are just absolutely heartbreaking. I couldn’t sleep last night because all I could think about was what question I should have changed – or should I have spent 5 minutes longer on that simulation.

Its truly heartbreaking. I really dont know what more to do. Both times before taking the exam using Becker I was scoring in the mid 80’s and occasionally the lower 90’s on practice tests.

I have NINJA notes and I rewrote those before the exam as well.

What more can I do to get the extra point?!!?

you can't let an exam make you it's bi*ch… F the AICPA.

Clear your head, come back, and go at it again. You know your stuff. just study for it again.

Also, i think i'm going to make note cards, since i failed too.

I think the key to passing audit is understanding the concepts because the exam is extremely tricky. I started off using just Becker's self study material and failed horribly. Then I decided to start taking notes and it helped but not enough to get me over the hump. That's why I said, I can't fail audit again and purchased the ninja audio and notes. My great improved but still only managed to get a 73. It was heart breaking but I wasn't going to give up. So I told myself, lets approach this exam like you've never studied for audit before and took tons of notes, read the book, did tons of MCQ and simulations. I final passed it with a 84 and didn't complete 2 of the simulations. So don't give up!! Just tell yourself that you can and will pass it.

F - 78
Ethics - 100
Done!!!

Thank you for your post! It made me laugh!!

It is SO TRUE – I am completely emotionally traumatized!!!! Why can't I pass this stupid test? It has become my arch nemisis.

I was thinking about taking it as soon as I could in October so all of the information is still fresh in my head. But maybe I should take some time off.

Like the poster above said, f this exam, its time to go in and go h.a.m. my strategy this go round? Take it as early as possible. In going to buy gleim online since it has audio visual presentations. I have basically only read and done mcqs only my last two attempts, maybe hearing a voice while I read will help…

Since we are temporarily being denied signatures, I can't see if you've put that you have passed any yet – have you? Getting the first pass under your belt is the hardest because you don't know how awesome it feels [yet] and it's seems ‘easier' to think about throwing in the towel if you have yet to pass anything. But believe me when I say your first pass and then all the ones that come after it, make up for the heartbreak of fails. Plus, in my opinion, a fail is never worthless – it's effort, practice, and time that is ultimately going to get you a passing score.

It's hard to not think about that “one question” you may have missed with such a close score. It's normal but hopefully with a bit of time, you can move on from those annoying thoughts. Like someone else said, take time to lament if you need – we all do (or at least I do!) !

In getting specific for that one point: I failed AUD with a 73 but I knew I got my research question SIM wrong. I hunkered down on research practice for my next time around and got the magical 75. How did you feel about your research skills? Getting that one SIM right/wrong I'm sure can be a few-point swing right off the bat.

Have you study or passed far? I failed audit 2 times within the 5 points range and studying far boosted my score 15 points.
