Failed my retake for AUD

I was at work and after suffering through a hurricane and a noreaster with no power, lost cars, anger/frustration, and lost time for CPA exam studying, I thought that I would get at least some positive news for my AUD retake.

A coworker came by and told me to check, and I wish he hadn’t it ruined my day more than it was already ruined the entire week. Like further insult to injury I saw that I got a 69 on my latest AUD exam.

I was in an obvious pissed mood much of the rest of the day and felt sorry for myself even telling myself the BEC pass I have was a fluke and that I felt like I should just quit.

I thought like that for roughly a day or so and then decided to tell myself that I wont let some stupid exam define what I want to do with my life and that I Refuse to give up EVER. I may hate the exam but I must not let that prevent me from becoming the CPA that I so desperately yearned to be for years already.

With that said, I’m now studying for FAR and am planning to take it in early Jan and will try to take my AUD 2nd retake a week later before busy season starts.

Heres to never giving up and going for your dreams.

I hope to everyone else like me out there, this helps motivate you at least somewhat.

    hey David,

Thoughts and prayers are sent out to you and all all that have been affected by “Sandy.” and thanking god that we were spared from the hurricane's worst wrath but still dealing with overall systematic effects.

Road closures, no gas, no trains , 3 hrs commute to work…toppled trees all over….Cannot imagine this around NYC, but this is what everyone is dealing.

Keep your positive spirit up , you will definitely pass next time and will conquer the CPA exams.. 😀

David, Nam, sorry to hear you are going through such an unpleasant experience. David, trials build character as your last two sentences indicate. Hang in there. Like Nam said: “Keep your positive spirit up, you will pass next time.”

F - Passed...THANK YOU, LORD. GLORY TO GOD.
B - Passed...THANK YOU, LORD. GLORY TO GOD.
A - Passed...THANK YOU, LORD. GLORY TO GOD.
R - Passed...THANK YOU, LORD. GLORY TO GOD.

I COULD NOT HAVE DONE THIS WITHOUT MY LORD. THANK YOU.

So sorry to hear, DavidB1990. I was rooting for you and tried checking the score release to watch for your post, but never saw it. My son had failed FAR once and AUD twice but passed BEC, then passed FAR, and is taking REG this month. Glad to see you are not giving up! This can be done – it just may take a little longer than initially planned. Hope FAR studying is going OK – I know it can be a beast. How great it will be to get that one behind you! Good luck!

    FAR - 92 (4/27/12)
    AUD - 96 (7/17/12)
    BEC - 92 (8/30/12)
    REG - 91 (11/12/12)

In the same boat as you, DavidB1990. Only good thing I can say is I know a left a lot on the table so there's definitely room for improvement.

You most likely have a better job than 99% of the people born in your decade, plus you passed a section, no need to be sad
