I failed Audit again with 74. I previously failed Aud with 71 and 73. Looking at the score report, all I got 3 times were the same situation : Strong at MC Weak at Sim. Is there anyway to improve my score for some points ? I really don’t know how to study Simulations. This is my last section. Advice please. Thank you!

Do you have the NINJA notes? They provide you with a great foundation for all the theory in audit. Read and re-write those over again, because that will provide with a strong basis for not only the MCQs, but I believe also the SIMS.

I went from a 61 to an 84 on audit. The trick is to take your sweet time and utilize the research tab. I went from weaker to stronger on SIMs. The answer is not always the obvious one. For example, you might think the answer at first might be “audit risk! for sure that's the one” but then you go to the research tab and see that it was inherent risk all along

Buy the Wiley book and do the simulations in there. They are tougher than the ones in the Wiley Online Test bank;but they are excellent at helping you comprehend the material. The book is cheap too.

Can you guys give more guidance on how to use Auth. Lit.? The examples seemed so much more specific on the exam than the Auth, Lit. provides for. Did you practice doing this for SIMs just like you did with the research question?

I personally did not use the Authoritative Lit. at all except for the research questions. It would've taken me a half hour to find anything. In my opinion, there's no need for it, maybe to look up a thing or two. Like you said the questions were too specific to look up. I recommend the Wiley Textbook, they have excellent simulations.

There's really no easy way out when utilizing the auth lit but it's a very important part of passing audit. If you get a sim that wants you to label the different types of risk (audit, inherent, etc) don't be quick to put your answers in. I did this the first time and got screwed. Don't expect to get a different result if you do the same thing (thus the OP keeps failing)

Take your time and look up the definition for whatever you're trying to answer. For the MCQ, dont second guess yourself. Often times your first instincts are correct

rickycpa, AUD is broad but must be understood on compact levels with lot of common sense.

CPA Excel is the best for AUD overall, but if your concern is only SIMs, then I suggest you go with Gleim's SIMS ONLY ($90) and expose yourself to more topics because it nearly covers all areas of AUD.

Thank you all very much. I truly appreciate you guys' help!

I knew that I have to use the research tab. However, the Sims I got this were mostly FAR related. I couldn't name those questions but it definately challenge my FAR knowledge. I did not feel like the research tab was such a great help as it comes to F/S impact. I still remembered those Sim questions but I still have hard time looking for answers to those questions even after the exam.

Any suggestions on how to utilize your FAR knowledge on Aud Sims ? Should I go back to my FAR books to study a bit regarding some specific topic?
