I just took my first CPA exam and failed. I did everything Becker says to do – was scoring high 80’s on the MCQ. Now need to take it again. What do people recommend I do for the next month? Is Becker Final Review worth it or is something else more beneficial?

@Priscilla the last time I took audit I remember somewhere on this forum where someone made the statement that auditing is about the financial statements so certain things that we may see in FAR is also fair game on audit. I have heard people say they were tested on some FAR topics when they took and I can attest to being one of those people the last time I took Audit. All I can do based on my last experience is study the extra stuff that I saw on the SIMs that was not covered in my book. I know for Yaeger Review when Gary goes over certain questions he will go over the adjusting entries.

    AUD - 73, 72 retake 7/2/2016
    BEC - 8/20/2016
    REG - TBD
    FAR - TBD

I am so ready for this nightmare to be over. Been at this way too long.

I think it makes sense to have AJEs, because audit tests for completeness, using cutoffs after the B/S date, to make sure items were recorded in the correct period. If you recorded something subsequent to the B/S date and it should have been included as of the B/S date, then as an auditor you would need to propose the correction AJE to the client.

This might be a silly question but for an AUD retake do I have to submit a new application to the board to get the payment coupon from NASBA? I originally paid for all parts and unfortunately I failed my first test and now my plan is completely off! Help!

    AUD - 73, JULY 2014
    FAR - OCT 2014
    BEC - TBD
    REG - TBD

    payment coupon?

paying for all parts was probably a mistake, but a common one. I did the same thing way back when.

    AUD - 75*, 88 done 5/14! (*exp)
    BEC - 74 , 77
    REG - 65 , 76 (10 point combooo!!)
    FAR - 69 , 75

I just had my rematch with Audit last week. Like you, I had done every Becker question, watched every video, and even took my own notes. Thought I had passed, then score release day rolls around and I made a 71. For my retake, I added the Wiley test bank, reread the Beck book and took even more notes. I think I did great on mcq (just like last time) and probably bombed the sims again. How does everyone handle the disappointment of not passing? I think I am facing another fail..

@kpmartin42 I failed AUD twice… Every time I felt I did good but it turned out bad results. These questions looks very straightforward and simple, but some times the answer are tricky. Make sure read all the answers and pick the most appropriate ones. After two times exams, I found out the points AICPA tested, so grasp the most important points. I registered for Aug. and I think I am going to read the Becker book again, redo every question and combined with Wiley review question. I found out that I may not fully understand the logic behind. And the SIMs are important to the total scores, so stick on more SIMs.

@jnathanson I felt the questions in exam are pretty similar to the Becker, but the answers are more tricky and should be careful.
