Hi i just failed AUD (65) after doing becker (and yes i did every single question). i have passed 2 section on my first try using becker and i am getting frustrated. I even tried taking notes but that just took up so much time! ( i have alwas been a really slow note taker)…. how should i study? should i just do multiple choice questions over and over again? should i waste my time taking notes? PLEASE HELP!!!!! my other scores are about to expire

Mcq practice for me was best way to study audit. go pick up a wiley test bank…2011 stuff should be heavily discounted and pick up Becker flash cards, I heard they were great.

For AUD, it's important to do the MCQs, but you also need to understand the concepts and memorize the reports emphasized in Becker. If Becker didn't work for you, I think you should switch or supplement as Herbie mentioned. The Wiley or Gleim test banks should help.

I am a slow note taker as well, but I have found that writing things out by hand in my own words is the most effective way for me to learn. When I'm really short on time, I type notes rather than hand write them, but it's less effective.

Thank you for your advice on breaking up Audit into understanding the concepts. Then going back to memorize the reports. Is helping me a lot on my studies right now and is making audit a lot more bearable!

T-Rex, how long does it ususally take you to take notes on a Becker chapter? Also, when i start studyong for reg (next month) i have a used book with all the notes already on it, should i still watch lecture or just go straight into taking notes?
