Has anyone ever reached the point where they are SO sick and tired of MCQ’s that you can’t possibly study them anymore? Now don’t reply with “yeah….every day..haha!”

I’m serious….I took Audit in Aug of 2009, got a 69, bought the Yaegar MP3 course (which is GREAT) and retook Audit in Nov. 2009……..got a 74.

I’m now taking Audit tomorrow (February 5th) and have been studying hard for the past 4 weeks. I’m SICK of multiple choice questions…..I’ve read so many of them that I HATE READING THEM! (you know what I mean, you move to the next question and it’s 2 long paragraphs and you say to yourself………ugh!!……..give me the 1 liners…..PLEASE!!)

You have a lot on your plate this month: 2 sections within 22 days of each other (!)

I felt like I would punch my laptop every time I saw a long, drawn out question. It would wear me down but I planned to cram until the last minute. Turns out my grandmother died the day before my exam and I didn't study at all (still had to take it or reapply and repay…)

I'm glad I didn't cram because taking a break from it then helped me regroup and my hatred for The Beast subsided just a little. If you don't know it by now, you probably won't so look over what you think will really help you, but don't overdo it.

You have no idea how much I FEEL you right now. That's how I was with BEC. I got a 70, retook it and got a 74 🙁 then I just retook it in January. And I got to the point where if it was more than 2 lines and I saw numbers, I would just get so upset and sick at the thought of reading that I would either walk away or just click till I got a smaller question.

man…I know how you feel, and I wish I could comfort you, but I can't…Auditting was the best MCQ section for me…financial was so hard I couldn't finish them all…the questions were just so hard and deep that after I finished one I felt like I deserved a 20 minute break, but there were literally thousands.

I've done 3,4000 MC over the last 5 weeks. Yeah, I'm absolutely sick of it too. I'm retaking Aud tomorrow as well after failing the first time with a 72 as well. Just want that passing grade and for it to be over with.

AUD had a metric ton of MC questions in Becker. By the end I felt my eyes bleeding at the thought of doing another question. It was worth it in the end though.

I'm there right now, cpawannabe. I'd rather stay at work than go home and do MCQ's. It's a sad predicament.

I just try and look at the big picture, but sometimes I just skip the long ones as well. In the two sections I've taken, I've never seen a question longer than 4 lines, I don't think. So, my own opinion is, skip the long ones. They are overly complicated.

cpawannabee – I had a Becker instructor once tell me to go to the call of the question which is usually the last sentence before reading all the facts. If you can determine the call of the questions you might be able to determine what information is pertinent and what information is a distractor. I use Becker and Becker has many old questions that are extraordinary long. I agree with dmjid0005 that the actual exam questions are rarely more than a couple lines unless they involve calculations. I would agree with you guys on the length of the exam questions, except for FAR. In my 3rd testlet I got some really long questions, we're talking at least 10 lines or more. I basically skipped them all until I had 4 of them left and my time for that testlet was up. I just guessed on those. It seemed to me that even if I had gotten the right answer, it would have taken me at least 10 more minutes for all 4.

I had that feeling while practicing the FAR multiple choice with Becker, but have not reached that point with audit yet. As sick as this sounds, I haven't minded the audit mc questions one bit. I've found them to be WAY easier and more straightforward than the FAR MC. The FAR MC would always included a boatload of info you needed for the answer and just as much if not more info that was simply “distractor” information. Like someone else pointed out, I felt like I deserved a break after each question, yet their are close to 2,000 practice MCs for FAR on the Becker software. Brutal!

But like I said, the auditing MC have been WAY more reasonable, for me anyway. The MC I'm looking forward to practicing the least has to be BEC though….that, and practicing the FAR MC again for my inevitable retake : )
