Dumb question about Prometric test centers

I pretty much already know the answer to this, but I gotta ask somebody before I take my first exam on Friday: Can you talk out loud in the test center?

It really helps me if I can talk the question and answers through.

I’m assuming this will be a laughable NO from most respondents…thanks in advance.

I wouldn't even take the chance of whispering. They might think you are somehow cheating. If I were you, I'd just mouth the words and not actually make any sound.

@keeptrying – lol yeah, I wouldn't doubt it. I figured that you meant don't talk at all, but blake responded back that he would “just whisper” so I just thought I'd clarify. 😉

    @ blake

I'm acutally not sure if we are not allowed to talk amongst ourselves, or if it is merely frowned upon since there are other test takers in the room. I have never tried, because I didn't want to be “that guy.” I did very quietly whisper to myself, and with earplugs in, it actually muffles your voice and you can hear yourself a little better. I'm confident no one heard me over all the 30+ computers running in the exam room.

What you can try is, ask the Prometric person if the special needs room is available. I nicely asked the lady once if she could put me in a quiet corner somewhere because I get distracted easily with the door opening and closing and such. She said their private special needs room wasn't booked and allowed me to test in there. The room had only one computer in it, and I was able to read the question to myself a little louder than usual. Not sure if it will work, but worth a shot.

I got to say that sometimes it helps to swear a few times outloud if you cant remember the answer to a question like “Aww Sh*t oh wait here we go! I remember this now!” =)
