I have only taken one exam so far and that was BEC. Because it was only 2.5 hours I didn’t see the need for a break. Would you recommend a break for the other 3 parts? Specifically AUD which I am taking Thursday?

    Thanks 🙂

    BEC - 53, 67, retake 2/28/11
    AUD - 54, retake 05/28/11
    FAR - ?
    REG - ?

I didn't take a break with FAR because I ran out of time but I did with AUD at the end of the 3rd testlet. It was the quickest 2 min. bathroom break ever. I felt it helped me clear my head.

    I have taken two breaks.

Break #1 – In between MCQ testlets during REG (my first exam) to go to the bathroom. I ended up running out of time trying to finish my last SIM.

Break #2 – In my AUD retake (4th overall exam) again to use the bathroom. I knew from prior experience that I would have a lot more time, although I did use all the extra time I had on SIMs, utilizing the AL to make sure I got as many points as possible.

I always get a venti Starbucks coffee before my 8am exams (except the one I failed…hmm…maybe that's the secret….) so it's not uncommon that I'll have to go again during the test.

I would try to avoid getting up if possible, but if you have to go, AUD is the best test to do so, IMHO.

    REG - 89
    FAR - 84
    AUD - 73, 86
    BEC - 89

I never took a break. Didn't want to distract myself and didn't know how difficult the Sims would be so didn't want to waste the time… left AUD exam 1 hour early!

    FAR: 81 (May 2013)
    BEC: 81 (July 2013)
    REG: 83 (August 2013)
    AUD: 82 (November 2013)
    California CPA since 1/30/14

On the recent exam that I took, I only took one break (REG). For the other two, I took 3 breaks. That is because my intake of water is a lot for the other two.

    FAR - 92 02/2013
    AUD - 90 05/2013
    REG - 85 10/2013
    BEC - 80 12/2013

    I'M DONE. THANK YOU LORD!

I only took a break for FAR because it's the longest test, and I definitely need some food to reenergize for that long of a period.

    B- 82
    A- 84
    R- 67, 72, 78
    F- 83

I can't personally understand caffeine before a test, I get the pre-test “jitters” or nerves, coffee would only increase these feelings, but that's just me obviously. I though I saw a while back on this forum a “Diapers” thread lol. For those of you who run out of time you may want to consider it. I'm sure the fellow test takers would love a fat load sitting in your diaper during their test. lol

In all of my exams to date I have never ever taken a break!!! I'm terrified to get up, terrified that if I did there would be a long wait to get back in, terrified that the prometric workers would think I took too long and report me to my state board, hell I even feel nervous just thinking about getting up right now while typing this!!!! Eeeeeek!!!!

I like to test @ noon or 1pm, so I cut myself off of liquid and food around 10:30am so I don't have to worry about needing a restroom break during the test. Between testlets I will take a few quiet and deep breaths and shift around slightly in my chair to break tension.

The thread about adult diapers is hysterical…I may hunt it down and bump it for laughs!

I take breaks because I start to get overwhelmed. Audit def gave enough time for breaks. REG was a different story and I wish I just stared at the ceiling rather than left the room. To get myself to calm down I write out my daughter's name on the note board so I can remember what I'm doing this for. If I have to take REG again I'm thinking I'll work through the 3 hours and one pee break if needed.

    BEC - 77 - Passed (Becker)
    FAR - 79 - Passed (Becker)
    AUD - 73, 82 - Passed (Becker)
    REG - 67, 89 - PASSED (Becker + Ninja + Wiley Test Bank)
