I passed BEC on October 18th. As of now, I am starting the 5th Auditing chapter (out of 6) of Becker’s review. I have the auditing exam scheduled for January 31st. Can anyone give me their opinion on whether you think I should move Auditing to early January, and then try to squeeze in REG or FAR in the same window? I can’t decide what to do.

Oh, gosh, yes, move it up. You would still have a month left to do the last 2 chapters and then review, so definitely take it in early January. You will be sick of this material if you leave it at Jan 31st.

I don't know if you work full time or what, but I'd recommend taking FAR at the end of Q1 if you can manage it. I hear people regretted leaving FAR for last. I work full time and my FAR study plan was for 7-8 weeks, which was doable. You'd have about that same amount.

I agree with Kimboroni – better to move it up. I'm guessing you've been studying AUD for a little over a month, if you started soon after taking BEC; that means you have spent about 1 month doing 2/3 of the material and would have 1 month to do 1/3 and review it all, which should be about right.

However, if you're a big Christmas partier, you may want to stick to your original plans. I'm not quite the Grinch, but I'm a close enough cousin that Christmas wouldn't affect my studying much, but if you're the type to take a week or two off studying, then you might need the later test date to have time to re-learn anything forgotten due to too much eggnog. 😉

lol, good point about the holidays, I didn't think of that. But last year I didn't truly start studying for AUD until 12/26, and had my CPA exam books out at the New Year's party I went to, so that probably explains why I didn't think of it.

Thanks guys. I think I will move it up. I definitely agree I would be sick of this material if I waited until the 31st. I am working full time, so it'll take some serious effort to get through the FAR or REG material, but I think I'd have a decent chance of passing.
