    Hello! My first time posting.

What is the best CPA Review course for someone retaking Audit?

Long story short. I got Becker for free from my employer. Passed REG and BEC on the first try (82, 79!!). Got married and had a few months off. Thought I was in good shape. Took Audit in January. 57…. Took Audit again in April. 61…. Took FAR in May 70…. Took FAR in July. 77!! Yay!

Took Audit again in August (really busted my a** this time, took it the same day I found out I passed FAR).

    61 AGAIN!!!! Ugh.

I am so frustrated. I don’t know if the problem is Becker because I’ve passed 3 with it. But, I just can’t seem to understand Audit and do well on the exam. (FYI, I am a Tax associate, no I’m not exactly passionate about auditing in general).

I have one more chance to pass audit in October before I lose REG and BEC. I want to get a new service and basically start from scratch. Obviously, I do not want to have to retake exams.

Yaeger looks good. I dig the old school approach and it appears to be one of the cheaper ones.

Any other recommendations other than Becker? I have ADD (doesn’t everyone) and have trouble focusing.

Any advice helps. Thanks in advance!

I only used Becker, so unfortunately I cant give you any insight on the other review courses. What I did want to say is this: Go into this exam like you have never seen the material. Dont short-cut your study method because you have already taken this exam a few times. Pick a new review course (Yaeger or Roger) and go through the entire course. Listen to all the lectures, read the book, do the questions, practice the SIMS, etc. Study for a 99 this time around. Good luck!

Just like you, I passed every other parts with my first try and I failed Aud twice with 73 and 71. Both were weak at SIMs and strong at MCs. I have Yaeger, Becker and I just switched to Roger. I just took it on 8/30 and I am not sure if I pass it this time. Have used all 3, I can tell you that Roger is very good for Aud because Roger himself explains the little details very well while Becker's passmaster is very useful for MC questions. Yaeger is not good for Aud because the teacher does not explain the materials well. Use Becker's passmaster and Roger's video is the best combination for me taking Aud. I also used Wiley online testbank to practice as well

It's just my 2 cents. As you said, you failed Aud 3 times. Were you weak at Sims or MCs?

    I need some luck!

Mini, Thanks for the tips. That is my plan; to start fresh and do everything. It was frustrating last time because I studied for the 99 and didn't improve by a single point. I will keep your tips in mind though.

Ricky. Both. I was weak at MC and Sims. I got a 61, so didn't do well anywhere. Haha. I was comparable on 2 sections. Professional Responsibilities and Understanding the Engagement. I did read on another website that Yaeger is not good for Audit. I did Becker questions all 3 times, but I am afraid I am memorizing the answers (and not in the good way). So, I am contemplating scratching Becker all together and starting fresh with a new course.

Also, Ricky (meant to say Ricky!). Roger looks really good, but do you get a book with it? I feel like I would need that I have something use that's is not on a computer screen. I guess I could combine the Becker book and Roger's video.

When I do MCs, I gotta understand the right and wrong answers. So I looked at the explanation for every single MCs and made sure I really understand it. I felt like if I used Roger earlier, I will get that extra few points to pass. Because when I was looking at his video, I realize Roger did mention something that Becker or Yaeger did not cover on. Those minor details that really make you select the wrong answers in the simulation.

This time around I used becker passmaster, Roger's video, Gleim and Wiley online testbank. I feel like I understand Aud a lot more. Wha I need now is some luck to boost up to 75.

    I need some luck!

I used Roger's book to look at the video. The Roger's book is more concise while Becker's book is broad and has a lot of information in it. I suggest get the Roger's book as well. Some parts in Roger is not emphasized in Becker while some in Becker is not covered in Roger's review.

It's good to have those two together.

    I need some luck!

I studied AUD from roger cpa review and got a score of 92. I do not have audit experience and roger helped me understand the material very well. Roger helped me stay focused on the material, made boring topics interesting and his stories and jokes helped me retain and recall the material in the exam.

I made a 62 for Aud using an older set of Becker flashcards and Wiley MC on iphone.

Got Lambers and watched the video's almost nonstop and improved to a 72.

Rewatched video's and just passed it last month. Every question I didn't know last time, I heard on the video the second time, so I think they did a good job of covering the topics.

I didn't care for their sim prep tho, because I want it on a computer simulation that preps me for the exam better than that.
