I wanted to start a thread for all those that plan to graduate from the CPA Exam in 2012. What sections are you taking, when, and what is your plan?

I will go first. I failed AUD in Nov. 2011. Funny thing is that I told myself that if I fail it would be because of this and this and sure enough, my score report proved me right.

I am taking AUD and BEC in the first quarter. I have noticed that I do best when I am in study mode so I plan to study for both sections simultaneously. Whenever I take a break in between tests, it takes a while for me to gear back up or I just lack motivation. I am using Gleim for both and starting from scratch. I perform better through self-study by reading, taking notes, and doing multiple choice questions. Lectures are good but not my cup of tea.

Here’s to passing in 2012. Now off the forums and back to studying!

    FAR Passed
    REG Passed
    AUD Passed
    BEC Passed

All aboard, this train's leaving. Next stop, TBD!

Planning on FAR at the end of January — still waiting on my Authorization to Test (ATT). The website said I should hear within 48 hours of me submitting the form but I think it's been over 2 days already and still no response…wtf!!

After I get my ATT, will I also be getting my NTS? And if so, how long after I make my NTS payment will I be able to register at Prometric? I'm afraid they'll take too long, it's already mid December, and I won't be able to find a seat in late January!

Let's do this! Hopeful CPA's–can't wait to be done staring at this computer screen memorizing mnemonics from Becker material. As Peter Olinto would say, “Who's better than us???? Nobody!”

I'm with ya! I did not pass AUD back in 2010 (struggled in MCQ but great in everything else, now I've learned my lesson though) and I'm back on the CPA bandwagon 2 yrs later!! I'll be ordering my study materials this week and WILL pass all sections by the end of this year! Thats my main goal, whether I have to take them more than once is not an issue. 🙂

    AUD- May 2012

    FAR- July 2012

    BEC- Aug 2012

@Peanut – I wouldn't call those parts little. They were both a BIG pain in the a$$ to me. Especially audit!!!

Started sitting in May 2002, on and off. But since 2008 I've been nonstop and my scores are....
    AUD - 39, 48, 56, 65, 68, 73, 76!!! (Finally passed in Oct 2011!!!) Becker, NINJA, & Wiley
    REG - 75 (Lost Credit) 72, 68, 73, 75 (Passed again in Aug 2011) Becker, NINJA, & Wiley
    FAR - 65, 68, 75 (Lost Credit) 68, 73, 73, 80 (Passed again in May 2012) Roger, NINJA, & Wiley
    BEC - 65, 68, 71, 72, 72, 71, 76 (Lost Credit)- 70, 76!!!! I AM DONE!!! - Roger, NINJA, & Wiley
After 10 long years of studying, I AM DONE!!!! Finally a Licensed CPA in the State of New York!!

@jomarie, I know, I failed them both lol that's why I put them in quotes. They're equally as evil! The only good thing is 5 chapters for each of them. Although, I noticed in BEC, each of the 5 chapters is about 100 pages! Sneaky! What do you think got you over the hump for AUD??

    AUD 81 (X4) Previous scores 59, 72, 72
    REG 80 (X3) Previous scores 59, 60
    FAR 75 (X2) Previous score 67
    BEC 79 (X2) Previous score 58

    CPA class of 2012 here.

Passed FAR and AUD. And just took BEC today. So I'm confident on that one. Now time to study for REG.

@Peanut: Well, I have several reasons to be confident. I'm an economics major for undergrad, finance major for MBA, 10 years of IT experience, and got 100's in a challenging cost accounting class earlier this year. I think that covers BEC nicely. Also I pounded on MCQ's on Wiley online test bank until they screamed for mercy.

Good luck in your BEC, hope you rock too!

I want to join the class of 2012 too! : D

Plan to take REG at the end of Feb. and BEC in May.

Hope everything will go well. I missed too much time with my 4-yr old bb and gained too much weight myself. can't wait to get this done and start a whole new life. haha!!!

    FAR 87 (8/19/11)
    AUD 83 (11/19/11)
    Reg 82 (2/25/12)
    BEC 78 (5/30/12)
    I'm done with studying!!!!!!
