Just want to make sure that I understand this correctly

1) Do compilations require independence?
2) Do Compilations require engagement letters? or are they called something else
3) A compilation is considered to be an attestation service, but not assurance, service, correct?

1. Compilations do NOT require independence but if not independent, you must state so
2. They require a written agreement that is typically an engagement letter
3. Not too sure on this one, starting to get confused with all the services myself :/ I do know compilations follow SSARSs

3) Correct. They are not an assurance engagement, but an attest one. That follows SSARs.
