    Hi everyone,

I’m taking Audit in about 2 weeks.. and am just starting studying. Yikes! But I have no job and no family to take care of, so hopefully with a bit of dedication, I can pull it through.

I have all of Roger’s books and videos downloaded, but they are outdated (2010) and I can’t afford to renew it. Any idea how much new material is on there?

    AUD – taking 5/24

    FAR – 71, 72, just took again…

    BEC – 76 (expiring 5/28)

    REG – 92

The 2011 material is going to include IFRS and corporate governance (if I remember correctly) which the 2010 material won't have. Also, something changed for compilations from 2010 to 2011…I think a client rep letter or engagement letter is now required and maybe a few other changes. Here's a link that may help you with the changes in compilations. https://www.picpa.org/Content/41761.aspx

The code of conduct moved from REG to AUD so you need that section. In addition to the international ethics and auditing standards, there are also new material about the GAO standards and Department of Labor requirements. Corporate governance is on BEC not AUD although there is some overlap there with internal control. I don't think the new PCAOB standards are supposed to be tested until after the end of June so you're OK there. I prepared for AUD in 2 weeks under similar circumstances to yours–it's tough but it can be done.

    FAR 4/1/11 - 89
    AUD 4/15/11 - 85
    REG 4/29/11 - 80
    BEC 5/13/11 - 85

If there's a section you can get away with old material it is definitely audit. As I've been studying for Audit I have noticed a lot of similarities to my audit text book from college that was published in 2007.

The PCAOB did just release some new Auditing Standards (AS 5-12 I think) that you will want to take a look at (probably available online). Also there are some international auditing standards that are supposed to show up on the exam. Since this isn't a significant portion of the exam you can probably get away with just looking for some online material. The review courses hardly spend any time on international standards (a far cry from FAR which really had some significant international information).

    FAR (4/25/11) 94
    AUD (5/23/11) 93
    REG (8/22/11) 84
    BEC (8/30/11) 92
