    Hi,

I just recently found out about this site and in desperate of advice.

I’m currently signed up for taking the auditing exam next Friday (my first attempt at CPA), I’m not the most confident test taker and nor was I ever really that good of a student. I’ve answered all the homework questions on Becker, viewed the lectures, and studied like a madman each of the sections of the Auditing book yet I still get 50-60% in the progress tests.

Any advice on how approach this exam? Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you.

My advice is to read the questions very carefully. For many of the questions in Audit, one word can change the entire reasonableness of the answer. Try to use process of elimination for the MCQ. Leave yourself enough time for the simulations (a little less than 2 hrs) and use the AL to help answer the simulations. Hopefully that helps.

    FAR (1/15/14)- 92
    AUD (5/05/14)- 94
    BEC (5/28/14)- 85

Yea read the questions carefully and just keep doing MCQ's like crazy, you'll keep on picking up little facts. I think I was averaging like 60-70 on progress tests and I managed to pass. The AL is your buddy on ALL the sims.

    AUD - 75 ☺
    FAR - 65, 71, 70, 77 ☺
    BEC - 80 ☺
    REG - 73, 66, 79 ☺ 2/28/15

    Done!

i took AUD 3 times and i would push it back if you possibly can. I took it the first time getting 65s-70s on M/c and got low 60s. took it the second time getting 80-85s but i had seen all my m/c Qs more than once but thought that even tho i had seen them before i still knew them (rather than remembering it was “C”) and i got a high 60s. for the third time i bought wiley m/c to get new MCQs that i had not seen before and was getting 80-85s and scored a 75.

my advice would be to buy ninja m/cs and do a bunch of m/c Qs and write down things you dont know or miss and just go over every question like you have to explain it to a 10 year old. that was the only way i could get enough of a handle on it to pass. plus ninja mcqs is really cheap and its worth it to get questions you havnt seen

    Aud-75 3x I knew i never liked you
Bec-77 1x being in the bubble is stressful
Reg-82 4x its not me its you...and no we cant be friends
    Far-78 1x easiest section

I was averaging in 90s for most sections in audit and for a couple it was 80s. Maybe I overdid it given the score I got in audit but i think its better to be safe than sorry. Keep doing MCQs over n over n if you feel you are memorizing the answers do the progress tests instead as they are in random order. I did the MCQs more than 3 times and I still did not memorize the answers to a majority of them since there are about 1500 MCQs.. I had Wiley too but did not use it. Had no time. I wanted to make sure that I do well in Becker. In my very limited experience with these exams, its best to stick to one review material and give it your best. If you can master that one material to a point where you are scoring in 80s you are in pretty good shape.

If its possible to push your exam by a week or so, I would suggest you do that and just keep pounding at the Becker mcqs. Becker more than sufficiently prepared me for Audit.
