I bought Jeff's notes!! Definitely think they had a good contributing factor for my audit score. If you guys are missing it by a few points I would say get a Cram type review to throw you over the top!
FAR 7/2 - 88
BEC 7/30 - 87
AUD 8/27 - 80

Did you mean that 2009 Becker materil for AUD is risky? I only use 2009 Becker for AUD now. Should I purchase 2010 Becker AUD? ( I spent a lot of money for exam, I don't mind that spend money for material). I just wondering if Geim is a good material. How much for Geim simulation? I am OK for multiple choice questions. I am not good at simulations. How can I improve simulations? There are a lot of question about FAR. I will take FAR in Novermber, then take AUD. Maybe it will better.
I got 74. How much time should I spend for 1 point?

September 24, 2010 at 3:45 pm #254622AnonymousInactiveSo what does this mean that we didn't get scores lastnight or this morning. what will the next wave be?
September 24, 2010 at 3:48 pm #254623AnonymousInactiveI purchased Becker's final review cource on all four parts, but I don't found it helpful on Audit, but I found it helpful on BEC. The final review on AUD is too simple and it didn't help much on the exam. Maybe I should purchase Jeff's note.
September 24, 2010 at 3:52 pm #254624AnonymousInactivewave 2.75, 3.0?

I don't want to say what my written communications were because we are not supposed to on here, but because of what they were about, they are not in the research tabs. It has nothing to do with finding the keywords or standard number, its a completely different subject…honestly I don't think it should be on an AUD exam, maybe REG, but I have not studied for that yet. No idea two written communications regarding this area.
The structure of your writing is only a portion of your written communication. It is also difficult to write coherently when you are making something up. They specifically asked for 3 examples, there really is no getting around that.
I can guarantee you I got 9-10 points on FAR W/C but my AUD W/C was a mess.
I also wouldn't say it's an embarressment to fail, and I'm not really worried about the money. It is about the time that goes into it. I work 50-60 hours a week as an auditor, I was getting my masters, plus I have other life responsibilities. I don't have 150 hours to put into studying for each section. I literally have no free time. I only have time to study a max of 80-100 hours over a 6 week time frame, and thats on 6 hours sleep. To lose more time of my life for this is just an awful feeling.
September 24, 2010 at 4:52 pm #254628michelle119Participant@Auditor – We may have had the same or at least one of the same w/c for Audit…. definitely had a similar experience. That stinks that you did not pass! I definitely understand you on the time thing. I was so worried I would fail Audit and with that I would have to stop studying for REG and probably would just take a failing grade on it. I am with you on too much on my plate, I start a new job Monday so who knows what my hours will be, I know it will be at least 40 but I'm expecting up to 50hrs since its an entry level audit job and I know I'll be offsite a lot and I already live almost an hr away from the office…. as well as taking 2 graduate tax classes that are 3 hrs each and probably require 4-5 hrs of outside studying. I think you should try and get a cram, and attack this thing to get it done this year! From your FAR grade and your experience, I think you just got the bad luck of the draw on the w/c and simulations…. Best of luck!! We are all rooting for you!!
FAR 7/2 - 88

michelle119, my goodness you are once crazy chica! that is such a crazy workload! kudos girl!
I barely scraped by but thankful for my 75.
Thanks to everyone for posting on the forums, always so encouraging and supportive! Will be hanging out in the BEC forums (again). Cheers!
REG - 82 (11/09)
FAR - 72 (2/27/10), 79 (5/29/10)
BEC - 69 (7/9/10), Retake 11/26
AUD - 75 8/28/10September 24, 2010 at 5:59 pm #254630fl halfsiesParticipantOh, I don't mean like – “you suck” when you fail. I mean when you have to tell someone you failed, and they don't understand this whole process. I failed three times…it sucks. It's emotionally draining. Together with the whole score release process, I'm surprised there aren't more CPA related murders (j/k – we're too smart for that, right?).
I know I have gotten weird topics that don't seem to belong on the test I'm taking. I've also had to write about things when you have to pick 2 of the 4 things to write about. I ran out of time on REG and wrote about only one. Got an 86…maybe they didn't grade that sim, but you just have to be coherent.
I don't think spending the money on 2010 Becker would be beneficial. Right now, with AUD, I don't think 2009 is a big deal. With REG and FAR it would be, but it hasn't changed much. I was just saying my Becker materials wouldn't be that much help to someone.
September 24, 2010 at 6:06 pm #254631fl halfsiesParticipantOh and time – I didn't have 150 hours either (initially). I studied 50 hours BEC, about 75-80 for FAR, 70 for REG first time and 40 the second, and audit was about 60-60-40. If I knew that audit sucked so bad I could have saved the $600 and idle time waiting for scores…but that's it.
Like I said before – nothing anyone says is going to make you feel better, esp with a 74. I took and passed FAR in January, took tests in April and May and got a 74 on both, then finally passed them this quarter. I have a couple of friends that are getting ready to start this process. My advice to them – don't fail.
I'm just ranting now bec I convinced myself I am not working today 🙂
September 24, 2010 at 7:37 pm #254632AnonymousInactiveIn case someone wants to know if Ohio Loophole works or not, in my case, it works. I applied only AUD on my NTS and it was accurate to show pass/fail. Before the score was released from AICPA, it was grey out. After the score was released, I was able to register for re-exam( *hint*~~didn't pass). I got 72 on the exam and I am in NY.
September 24, 2010 at 8:39 pm #254633HazeEastwoodParticipant@Michelle119, I see that you have taken BEC so I have a question for you. I am doing some of the homework problems and the managerial questions seem to be ridiculously long. Its taken me 4 or 5 min to figure out how to solve the thing. Are the CPA questions as complicated?
