Hey everyone,

I just recently started studying for the Auditing section (my first exam), expecting to sit for it August 24th. I’ve been using Becker self-study and everything has been going pretty well, especially on the multiple choice questions and on the research-based simulations. However, I’m struggling with the non-research based simulations. I’ve heard that the authoritative literature can be used to help you solve these non-research sims as well, but they never seem to help me when I practice. I basically have to use my own knowledge when answering these questions. I’ve even tried the 24-hour demo of the Wiley TB to help practice the sims and I still can’t seem to be able to correctly search for the subject matter in the simulation. Again, I do pretty well with the research questions, just not the non-research questions. How do you guys approach the simulations? Any tips on how to search through the authoritative literature to assist in solving these questions?

Using Becker Self-Study

I found the sims to be a bit easier come exam time because of the use of AL. I'm not sure since I never did practice much using the software for the SIMS, but the AL should have more content when you actually take the exam. It's just about as easy as doing a google search. Just have a general knowledge on the difference between AU, etc. When I took auditing last month, 4 of my sims were straight from the AL. The other 3 I kinda had to guess on a lot more, but I made it out alive.
