Audit simulations

I can say I honestly know audit like the back of my

hand but there is one problem, the simulations. The last two times I

took this test I got a 73 and 65. Oddly enough, the score summary in

the 65 looked better than the 73 but I won’t go there. I have

consistently been scoring stronger on the MC section. I can go through

the MC very quickly and have a great understanding of the material.

The Simulations however are simply mind boggling.

My question to you is how should I attack the simulations? I know in

the past I have read on your site that studying the material is the

best bet and not to waste time taking the simulations(which i have

done also). The simulations are absolutely preventing me from passing

Audit and even if I did, I have no idea how I can pass FAR and REG

with have the simulations. Please help me

i have the same problem. i failed audit with a 72– score report showing that i was stronger in MC but weaker in sims.. i use becker self study and felt that the sims in that program are pretty straight forward and not nearly as confusing as it is on the real exam……

a lot of people have said to use the AL (authoritative literature) on sims and that they have found the answer word for word in there for some of the sims. it's almost like having the audit text book.

i just retook audit yesterday so i'm hoping i got it the second time around..

    good luck.

    Hey,

I have the same problem with audit. I took it twice and I failed it twice because of simulations. My score notifications show that I am strong in mcq and weak in simulations. I don't know how to study for my third test. My simulations had some FAR related questions, so I decided to study for FAR before retaking it, but I am worried I will forget a lot, before it is time to study for AUD again.

Anyway, please let me know if you know how to prepare for AUD simulations…

    REG - Passed
    FAR - Passed
    AUD - Passed

I will give you my honest opinion on this and maybe some will disagree – I just passed audit in this last window, I can't even remember how many times I have taken it. I will tell you this, everytime I was weaker in SIMS and stronger in MCQ.

In my opinion you will be wasting your time studying simulations, the simulations just regurgitate information you already know if you have a good study plan. For me personally, I watched the lectures, then I went to town on multiple choice. I worked every question in the Wiley test bank and then I identified my weak areas, I worked those questions some more. by the time you go in for your re-take, you should be sick of mutiple choice questions.

Simulations will just manipulate what you already know, you have psyched yourself out and in this way simulations have mind control over you – just look at them as multiple choice questions in a different format, assuming you have a good study plan in place, you will simply need to apply the knowledge in a different way – it doesn't matter how you lay out information regarding internal control, planning and evidence, in the end, the information is still internal control, planning and evidence – quit letting your mind play tricks on you with these things, you can do it.

    A - passed
    R - passed
    F - passed

I agree with jsblamer. You never know what you are going to get for the SIMS, and from my experience they have been different than my practice SIMS anyway, so just make sure you know the material and give yourself enough time so you can use the authoritative literature to help with your SIMS.

I'm currently waiting for my score for my first AUD attempt so take what I said with a grain of salt for now, but it seems to the the approach a lot of people use.

You need to use the research tab for your audit SIMs. I was able to find word for word answers for two of my sims in the authoritative literature. I did not practice before the exam, but I was shocked I was able to do this, it was suggested to me and I thought it was crazy, but it works! I think this is one of the major reasons I passed. Make sure to leave enough time to search!

    A - 61, 91!!
    B - 78!
    F - 76!!!
    R - 71, 73, 74, 69, 77!!!!

    Finally done!

This is my 2nd attempt at the exam, I had two parts passed (failed many) and I stupidly quit, big mistake. Now I'm back and with a vengeance!
