Has anyone found that using the authoritative literature on the Audit exam is useful to answer SIMS (other than the research question)?

Using Ninja simulations I realized a lot of them could be answered word for word using the AL. Just wondering if the actual test often has simulations that come from the AL, and what would be the best way to utilize this function.

Absolutely! I used AL on multiple sims. Not sure if any were pre-test or not but I know I got them 100% correct.

When I first took AUD I didn't even think of that. Embarrassing but true.

When I took AUD I had two(!) sims that had the answer word-for-word in the AL, so at least one of them had to be a “real” sim. I had to do a double take when I first saw this because I was worried about the sims and couldn't believe how lucky I was.

Definitely know how to use the AL for AUD. It can be a great help for your sims.

Yes, you should use AL for AUD sims. I failed the first try, but passed this time scoring stronger in SIMS. I lucked up on this test and had 1.5 sims with answers verbatim in the AL. Even if you can find the exact answer, you can find info to help steer you in the right direction.

taking AUD tomorrow, feel like I just found gold. I took FAR last year and the authoritative literature was just too broad for application so I didn't even think about it for AUD.

could you please give me some details about how and where I can practice AL? I have failed AUD 4 times and Sim was killing me. I desperate some advice how to prepare for Sim!! Thanks

Yes.

AL for AUD/FAR and IRC for REG are all essential for passing the simulations.

And you're correct. Many times, non-research sims actually feel like research sims, due to the amount of research you need to do to find the correct answer. I was able to find answers to questions word-for-word on all 3 tests. I scored comparable in sims for AUD and stronger for FAR/REG.

My biggest tips on using the AL:

1. Find a key term from the question and search for it within the AL

2. Browse around your results to see if you hit anything relevant. If you didn't, search another keyword. If you did, great. Then use the “search within” feature to do a more detailed search.

3. Don't give up after the first few minutes. Yes, time is ticking, but you need to be persistent in your search. It's better to search for an answer than to guess blindly. The answer is in the AL is in there.. somewhere. Be persistent.

Definitely try to allow enough time for the sims to search the AL. I tried a few different combinations of words and phrases if the exact question didn't appear word for word. The search within function helps a lot too.

Used the AL for 2 sims in addition to the research q. And a couple journal entry questions. Good luck!
