Audit Sampling

    Hi all,

I take the AUD test on November 30. I just finished the Audit sampling part of my studying and I am feeling overwhelmed! The Bisk books ususally tell you how much of each chapter to expect on the exam; in this case, they do not say. Has anyone read in any of their study material about how much of each area may be on the exam (please don’t include your own test taking experiences)?

Also, if anyone has any tips on how to approach this chapter to be prepared for the exam please let me know.

    Thanks!

    J

i think less than 15% but not sure.. but for sure way less than internal control. I hear that is heavily tested every year

No, I use Bisk, and curiously, they don't tell you the % in AUD the way they do for the other sections. I don't think it really matters, though. I'm assuming that the chapters that have the most MCQ attached to them are the heavy-tested chapters.

Taking mine on 11/30 too…..I can't believe that day is almost here. Feels like I left the testing center after FAR just yesterday.

I used Bisk as well and while they don't directly tell you the percentage tested on sampling, they do say that it is embedded within the Evidence & Procedures section for purposes of content specification. I think they break this down in one of the lectures but I can't remember which one it was.

If you are feeling overwhelmed I'd focus on the different types of sampling (throughout the chapter, but primarily between variables and attribute), beta and alpha risk (ARATL and ARATH included; pgs. 26-4,26-5), and what factors affect sample size (pg. 26-12).

Thank you everyone for your input on this. I finished up the questions for the section today and I feel a little bit better (I answered at 75%).

@Patrick909: I hope that it is based on the number of questions; especially since there are only 40 in this chapter!

@Capital Gains: I do think I will follow up with the pages that you suggested. I appreciate the information.
