Took audit on Sat and it was nothing like I expected. I was scoring mid to upper 70’s on the Becker final exams and was feeling a little nervous going into the test. I started the first testlet and it was like I saw on BEC (easy questions). Then to the dreaded second testlet which I was sure would be signifcantly more difficult. I took a break, got some water and prepared to wrestle with this section for an hour. To my dismay it was also “easy”, the 3rd testlest was also easy.

I know the test is adaptive and should be getting harder as I go to each new testlest (at least that was the case with BEC), but these questions were so easy there is no way I got less than 80 of these correct. The sims (with the exception of 2) were also pretty easy. I’m not sure whether I just studied real hard and was well prepared or if I was one of the lucky few to get an easy test either way I’m not complaining.

Hi gr8dane,

Your experience was almost identical to my own for AUD. I could definately tell the testlets got harder for REG, BEC, and FAR but I just could not tell for AUD. It could definately be that you were well prepared for the exam, so I would not dwell on the difficulty too much. I also thought I did very well on most of my sims (4 I know I nailed, 2 I thought were challenging but I did feel pretty confident with the final one being ridiculous) but I was still nervous leaving. Are you taking any other tests this window? If so, I would just try and focus on those tests and just be grateful you are done w/ one test and may get the results back earlier than other windows!

oh I'm not dwelling, I'm just grateful that the CPA gods were looking down on me that day. I am taking REG the week before Thanksgiving (wanna pig out without having to worry about studying when I should be in a turkey induced coma). Btw congrats on your scores!

I'm not sure how adaptive the test is. Audit never got harder for me. In fact I had the same MC question 4 times! And it was an easy one. Two times it was the exact same question. Once the choices were in a different order. and once it was worded slightly different. But they all came out with the same answer. When I came across it a third time, I sat there for like 5 minutes rereading the question to make sure it wasn't my imagination. I ended up with a 90, which doesn't suggest my performance got worse with each testlet.

My 2nd audit testlet felt WAY easier than the first one, but it must have been “harder” because I passed in the 90s. Hope that is a comfort to you. 🙂

Just got home from AUD! I didn't leave the test center crying so that's always a good sign 😛 My first testlet was very easy.. it made me feel like I was on fire. Then the second/third testlet was wicked hard 🙁 Very tricky… Some of the questions in the testlet were easy, but a majority were pretty hard. I also took a break before the SIMs.. The SIMs were doable.. Definitely got 3 right, the rest I hope I guess some partial credit on.. all and all If I fail I wouldn't be surprised, if I pass wouldn't be surprise. OH and AGAINNNNN my friggen test crashed during the SIMs! WTF! … On a slightly funny note.. I fished the exam with 40 minutes to spare.. I was re-checking all of my SIMs.. I had nailed the research right when I started the SIMs, so I thought to myself “I don't even need to check my research, I KNOW it's right, but I guess I will anyway since I have time” Well guess what?! I had typed the wrong freaking number!! Haha had to change it to the right one! What a dummy..

gr8 dane, your experience sounds identical to mine. I used becker and also saw the same exact questions from Becker being used.

The sims like you said i found 5 of the 7 to be fairly easy, but two of them pretty hard.

Congrats to all who took audit and are done with that section. Hope you all did well!! Difficulty of testlets doesn't always mean pass or fail, so don't dwell on it either way.

I'm hoping to take AUD this window, and I'm studying using Becker, Wiley test bank, and will buy Becker final review. I'm literally going through every MCQs and SIMS three times in Becker, and hopefully will be able to do all in Wiley (at least half:) Am I good as far as preparation goes? I've learned that test really depends on luck, so not even thinking about that…just wanna make sure I'm prepared and don't see more than couple questions outside my studying materials.

PS: I failed audit by 2points last time:( I also felt Becker MCQs were very similar to actual exam (I def. felt lucky) and SIMS weren't too bad besides J/E which might have screwed me, but who knows.

I took AUD today also. I too thought the MC were easy. I'd seen quite a few of them when studying with the Wiley Test Bank. But, for me the SIMS were really hard. I felt ill prepared for them. Probably my own fault. But, in my defense I haven't been able to find some of the answers in the Wiley book when flipping through it this evening, so maybe that book had some shortfalls too in regards to SIM prep?

Took my test Saturday and like you, the SIMS were only 50% covered in my Becker review – barely.

I would just make sure that you have an understanding of the high level concepts heavily tested in audit. You may want to practice a few just to get familiar with the format. I found that during my test none of the simulations tested on any concept that wasn't heavily emphasized in Becker. That is not to say that it was not asked or presented in a way that I was unfamiliar with, but conceptually they were things that I had seen while reviewing Becker. Not to get into specifics with what I saw on the exam but it seems like from most of the threads I have read that most people have seen a research question and a question that asks you to make journal entries.

Wow, this thread is reassuring. My UAD exam is coming up on the 15th and this puts me a little at ease. For some reason, while studying this, I feel like AUD is the beast and not FAR. Maybe is just because I'm more of a numbers person…

I'll report back after the exam. Hopefully I have an experience like Peanut's!
