    Hey loves,

So the date of my retake is finally here and I am taking Audit for the second time on Monday at 4:30. For those of you who don’t remember, last time I took it I received stronger in all of the MCQ categories and weaker in SIMs. I’ve put in a little under 80 hours for this re-take in a span of about 20 days. I went through the Becker book and read each chapter, re-did all the homework and SIMs, did all of the cpareviewforfree SIMs as well. I’ve been doing some MCQ areas in Wiley, and listening to the NINJA audio too. These past couple of days I’ve been taking 100-150 question practice exams and have been getting 96%+ on them, so my question is what should I really do these next few days?

The anxiety levels are hitting me on this re-take because I felt prepared going in the first time so I’m scared that I am going to get railed on these SIMs again and that come test day I’m going to look at them and have difficulty sorting through how to do them properly. I do feel that I’ve expanded my knowledge more, but the way that things are worded on the SIMs really makes me question how to get through them. I’m worried that I will have to take it again if I don’t continue obsessively studying this weekend. What should I do with the time that I have today and tomorrow?

Sigh. Miss talking to all of you guys, hope your studies are going well.

I'm sure the retake will go well for you.

I know I sound like a broken record on AUD, but the literature helped me a ton. I had some REALLY specific questions and figured the answers wouldn't be in the literature, but ended up finding it almost word for word.

Honestly it sounds like you are plenty prepared. Since you've taken it you know about how much time you'll have left for the SIMS. I had a ton. So much so that I tackled the SIMS I knew and then just chilled for a minute (didn't take an official break obviously, but just sat). If something feels overwhelming just give yourself a minute. Kricket told me beforehand to just always think about how someone could steal/lie, etc and how I would find it if I were looking for it. Sounds basic of course, but I did focus on that while I was tackling the sims. For each answer choice I thought about the steps and outcome. Once I had the right answer I KNEW I had the right answer.

That being said I only had two super shitty sims, the rest seemed fair. One was just a beast and was REALLY hard for me, the other shouldn't have been hard in theory, but the answer choices SUCKED and didn't really match what I thought they should be.

Yeah, last time I didn't think the SIMs were so bad so in a way I kind of breezed through them and did look at A.L. but not as much as I really should have. I think I underestimated them and over-estimated my own ability, so this time I'm really going to dissect it as much as possible. Last time, I messed up on the Audit risk model and I've really tried to understand that as much as I could but I'm worried if I see it again that I might get kinda stuck once again because you have to really like sit there and talk yourself through it. Specifically because almost all of the material I have goes over the risk components in general like in enough detail to answer a MCQ correctly, but very rarely explains specific scenarios that impact different types of risk the way that it could be in a SIM so it's hard to tell if I truly understand it or not.

@Shay, the biggest problem is that I don't know what to really study anymore. Going over and over MCQs has become redundant since I'm getting 96%+ on all of it, so I'm not really learning all that much anymore.

Honestly if you are just going thru the mc and really comprehending them bc you already know the answer then that is not helping you. I use the becker flash cards when i get to that point bc atleast they drill down on the basics. Goodluck with the exam.

    Audit - June 2012: 80

    Do it to it.

No anxiety, you've prepared as much as you could since your last exam. You've built upon a stronger base than before. The best effort counts and this exam isn't life or death. You can always retake it (but hopefully not LOL).

@mgoloubenko…then do this. Take a break now. Sunday morning spend about 4 hrs and STOP and DO NOT STUDY OR REVIEW on Monday. You want to give your brain a break from Auditing material. This way you will ready to tackle with good attitude. the point is if you are doing MCQ on the last min, your brain is tried of seeing those question, so when you goto the exam, your brain in not function well, because its tired.

I also have a friend taking AUD. Wish both of you luck. Relax on Sunday and do a quick review the afternoon of the test. At this point, doing more mc will not help.

@mg Good Luck on Monday! I agree with givemesleep and nail down the various types of reports and their content. I think that is what put me over the top on AUD. It not only helped me in the MC but in the SIMS as well.

You have practically all day on Monday before you sit for your exam. If there are particular areas that are troubling you still, then by all means work on those up until the minute you walk out the door to go to Prometric. I took REG in May and my appointment was at 1:30. There were a few things that I woke up thinking about so I did about 30 MC's in that area before I left. I KNOW it helped!!

    Hope this helps!

Thank you for all the suggestions guys, I will spend the day today looking over some areas that I've found confusing in the past but hopefully have straightened out. Good luck to everyone taking exams this week & as they say, “May the odds be ever in your favor” hahaha!!
