After passing BEC & REG in Q1, I kind of procrastinated and only started studying for my AUD exam a week ago. Seeing that I have until 9/2018 has kind of made me overconfident. Anyway, I am having a really hard time studying for audit.

I am realizing right now… is it possible to study each chapter of AUD through Becker in 3 days? Have everything completed by the 10 of may so I may simply review and practice until my test on the 24th?

At this point I’ve lost hope even though I feel I really shouldn’t have.

I took 34 days to study audit. The first 4 days I watched the videos and took notes. Then I read the chapter, watched the video again, did the skills practice, worked the mcqs, and did the sims for each chapter. It took 2 days to do 1, 2, 5, and 6. 3 and 4 took three days each. After that I spent the next two weeks redoing the chapters a second time. I watched the videos a 4th time at 2x speed on the 33rd day. For the day before the test, I took a practice test in the morning followed by reading chapters 2 and 3 again. The last thing I did was watch the skills practices again at 2x speed. Everyone studies differently. You have to do what works for you.

^If u did all of that in 34 days, then u just set a world record! Did u even shower or brush your teeth? Gosh, that would have been Hell!

To the original poster. Your time table is very similar to mine. I took FAR and BEC in Q1. I sit for AUD on May 31. I am not sure about the rest of the Becker students, but I find it takes a lot more time to go through each unit with the new format. I started studying just before the start of April, and I am just wrapping up A4. I tend to over study just to obtain reasonable assurance (had to say that on an audit post) that I will pass the first time around.

Also, I know the feeling about not being motivated. It's been tough wanting to study after taking a down FAR and BEC. But think to yourself, is it really worth slacking off and risking your other two exams? If you had to post on this forum and ask the question you did, the little voice in your head is saying START STUDYING!!!

Do 50 MCQ a day upon initial studying. Take notes on questions missed. After you completed the chapter do 100 MCQ of that section. Do this through each section. Once you have watched the lectures and read the book do 200-300 MCQ a day (this should not be too bad because AUD does not have very many computational questions). Make flash cards on questions/sections you are not understanding/questions missing (you should already have some flash cards made when initially studying the sections). Keep pumping out MCQ and copying notes until you are trending 85-90% MCQ. Make sure you have your mnemonics sheet in hand when you do MCQ the first go around. The cheat sheet will assist you in understanding what the question is asking. Read your mnemonics cheat sheet 2 times a day, at the beginning of your study session and at the end or before bed. Read the sample engagement letter, management rep letter and unmodified audit report every day.

Some focus tips: Understand the management assertions. Know the differences between audits, reviews, compilations, preparations, agreed upon procedures and their respective reports. Know the differences between emphasis of matter, other matter, disclaimers reports/paragraphs.

It was totally worth it not to have to worry about taking it again at the end of the year. It's much better to study enough to pass the first time instead of just doing MCQs and having to take the tests over and over again.
