Hey everyone! Hope you’re doing well and not freaking out about score release on Friday as much as I am 😉

I’m taking Audit on the 16th and I wish I had more time but I’m leaving for vacation and would rather take the exam now than in October. Currently, I’m finishing up A4 today and moving onto A5 and will spend about 5-6 hours a day studying ( I’m 60 hours in right now). I’ve noticed throughout the exam process that Becker tends to over emphasize certain chapters that I barely saw questions on during exam day. For example, in BEC I barely saw any of those intensive calculations and even my variance questions were very simple although that was a high focus point in the Becker homework. I know that people will say that everything is important, and I do plan to go through all the MCQ’s several times but which chapters should I really hit hard to better my chances? Any advice is appreciated, with no disclosures of course 🙂

    FAR 4/9/12- PASSED
    BEC 7/13/12- PASSED
    AUD 8/16/12- Ughhh 71, Rematch: 90!!!
    REG-12/6/12 PASSED

    USC MAcc- Fight on!

Taking Audit tom. Aug. 2nd….been studying with Becker self study materials…1st time taking this part, feel like the MCQ's will not be too bad but from what everyone else says, the Sims will prob. be brutal…I'm assuming this is your 1st time taking Audit as well mgoloubenko?

Yep! This will be my first and maybe even last Audit exam and why do I always feel like the SIMs are the killers, essentially thats what I've heard for pretty much all the sections.

My diagnostic report said I was comparable in all the MC areas, except Acct/Review Services in which I was stronger. Overall comparable on MC and weaker on SIMS got me a failing score. I am almost certain it is b/c research questions in SIMS. Retake mid August.

    I concur. Good luck.

I have a general question about the SIMs, have people been known to run into SIMs that involve JE's on Audit? I had a few for my Becker SIMs but wasn't really sure since I have not seen any journal entries covered in the AUD book

I am getting so nervous. My first exam ever is tomorrow at 8am with Audit and I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on studying or last minute reminder or whatever you might want to add before I sit down infront of that computer tomorrow? Any suggestions would definitely be helpful…would sooo appreciate it!

@PrayingforCPA, try to stay as relaxed today as possible and take the rest of the evening off. There is nothing that you should try to still learn today but manage your time and leave nothing blank! I've also heard that the Authoritative Literature tab can really help you with the other SIMs- granted you leave yourself time to check back and forth! Good luck!

Just took the Audit exam today….MCQ's were pretty easy/fair, they seemed easier than Becker's MCQ's…all testlets seemed to be the same level of difficulty…Sims were another story (no surprise lol), a lot of educated guessing although I got the research question correct :)…Not too confident at all with passing because of the Sims :(…gl all

@TripleNetAcct – I ended up failing with a 69 :(, but it was my 1st time taking Auditing so I now know what to refocus on when studying again. Especially when 2 of my Sims focused on 1 area that Becker doesn't go into great detail about. I am going to get the Wiley book so I can brush up on some topics and do their MCQ's to better prepare me. As far as the name “skintapeup” goes, it is a type of haircut that I get on the sides and back of my hair.

Ahhhh…Right on! Sorry to hear about AUD. These exams are so frustrating. I can't relate to Becker as I have not used any of their materials, but on my second attempt, I bought the cpareviewforfree.com sims and it helps bring all of the topics together by hitting the important areas. Just something to consider. Good luck going forward.
