AUDIT Exam Preparation – Will 2 months suffice?!! - Page 2

    Hi!

I’m scheduled to take Audit on August 31. I’ve been studying for a week so far. I took the Audit review courses through Becker.

Will 2 months (July and August) be enough time to prepare for the exam if I plan to study 20 hours during the week? I work full time but I plan on studying after work and on the weekends. I am also planning to use 2 weeks of my vacation days to study for the exam (a week off in July and another week off in August).

Will this suffice or should I plan on rescheduling for the next testing window?

This will be my first time taking the exam. I’m panicking already.

    Thanks!

@KB24. You referenced the need to memorize e.g. the standard unqualified opinion, the differences for the other opinions, and the audit standards in an earlier post. Were you referring to the 10 generally accepted auditing standards or the AU standard outlines? I hope the GAAS. I have been reading the AU standard outlines as part of my study time during lunch to help with my overall knowledge of audit.

    thanks,

5-6 weeks is plenty of time to study for audit.

    BEC - 11/28/10 - 83
    REG - 02/19/11 - 94
    AUD - 04/01/11 - 97
    FAR - 05/09/11 - 88

I agree that study groups would not be effective for this type of exam. However, a co-worker of mine met a friend at the library every Sat. They would grab coffee, split for four hrs and study on their own, grab lunch together and then split to study again. This provided the accountability of a study group without the distraction of one.

Good luck with AUD! I'm sure you'll do great. I would save some of that vacation time to spread throughout other sections.

    BEC 81
    AUD 76
    FAR 70, 76
    REG 58, 78! DONE!

I took 2 months to study for AUD @ 20 hrs a week and in my opinion, it was just right! At first, I kind of panicked because I was worried that I wouldn't have enough time. But during my last 2 weeks of studying, everything finally clicked and I felt prepared.
