Audit easy? NO!

    I studied my ass off for audit and by the 4th question I wanted to walk out of the testing center

    I had seen the questions before but for some reason, the way the answers was formulated, it COMPLETELY threw me off. I’m not the type to just memorize the answers, I try to understand the concepts as much as I can.

    I found the exam to be brutal so prepare yourself.

    BEC- 80
    REG- 68, 71, July
    AUD- 61 , 84
    FAR- -- 75 🙂

    Honestly I think that bodes well for you. I left AUD in tears (literally) feeling like every second I studied was a waste of my time because I was not at all prepared for what hit me. I've even tried many times to look up one of the SIMS that I do remember and I swear it is not covered anywhere. But apparently somehow I ended up in the 42-ish percent that were to pass! I think you will too.

    FAR- 77
    AUD -49, 71, 84
    REG -56,75!
    BEC -75

    Massachusetts CPA (non reporting) since 3/12.

    @goodluck2everyone, that's exactly how I felt! I studied my butt off and they threw so many random questions, international, all sorts of crap! My friend scored a 99 and he said he got the most basic exam, nothing out of left field or international curve balls. It felt SO easy while I was studying for it. Damn AUD. I'll slay her end of February…

    AUD 81 (X4) Previous scores 59, 72, 72
    REG 80 (X3) Previous scores 59, 60
    FAR 75 (X2) Previous score 67
    BEC 79 (X2) Previous score 58

    @goodluck2everyone

    I found it weird in comparison to what I studied.

    FAR was weirder, though.

    BEC seemed to be okay, but somehow I failed it once 😀

    @ Peanut

    I feel your pain. For some reason, it is so hard to pass AUD since you might be curved with someone who has much easier question set then yours. Also, I feel AUD frequently cure people down than up; that makes people pay the exam fee over and over again. I am not sure if it is ethical or not to keep charging people $$…

    @CPA Genie

    Do you think that's what they're doing – comparing apples with oranges?

    Your score is curved against the scores of people with same test sets. Otherwise it makes no sense…

    @ 75

    I am not sure how they do it exactly… but it is still not fair if you did well (scored > 75)because of easier testlet and then still be curved down… Just my opinion.

    Each individual question is weighted differently per the AICPA's own website:

    https://www.aicpa.org/BecomeACPA/CPAExam/PsychometricsandScoring/ScoringInformation/DownloadableDocuments/How_the_CPA_Exam_is_Scored.pdf

    So no matter what set of questions you get, everyone is scored the same on all questions. Which is why the pass rate fluctuates a little bit, but is always still close to 40-45%.

    REG: 90, 8/27/11
    AUD: 91, 11/30/11
    BEC: 92, 10/6/12
    FAR: 91,11/3/12 DONE!!! PTL!!!
