Just got my Audit score and ended up with a 71. Majorly bummed as this is my first fail and I thought I had been prepared. I guess it goes to show that feeling like you passed= a fail. I was kinda surprised because I had an 80 on Beckers final exam so this is the first time I’ve gone down substantially instead of up. I was planning on doing REG next but it looks like I’ll loop back towards Audit. I wanted to get AUD & REG done before I started work in January but now I’m not sure this is possible! Any advice on how to move forward or similar experiences would be great.

    FAR 4/9/12- PASSED
    BEC 7/13/12- PASSED
    AUD 8/16/12- Ughhh 71, Rematch: 90!!!
    REG-12/6/12 PASSED

@mg sorry to hear this…. I would definitely restudy AUD right away and take it first week of October and REG at the end of November. You will get this done next window…

    FAR 7/10/2012 - 93
    AUD 08/28/2012 - 93
    REG 10/16/2012 - 93
    BEC 11/26/2012 - 88
    ETHICS 12/01/2012 - 93
    Done!!!!!!!!

It was right about the middle of September last year when I found out I failed AUD for the 2nd time. I scheduled the rematch 30 days later and brought my score up to an 84. I would definately put retaking AUD at the beginning of October and then take REG at the end of Nov.

    FAR- 77
    AUD -49, 71, 84
    REG -56,75!
    BEC -75

Massachusetts CPA (non reporting) since 3/12.

@mIa – My post in the CA ethics exam thread is getting held up because of the links. Might you be able to release it? Thanks!

    Edit: It's fixed. Thanks!

Got my score report: Stronger in each section of the MCQs, while weaker in the SIMs. I am guessing many of you in the low 70's had a very similar score report. How did you overcome a weaker in SIMs, and I would appreciate it if anyone could explain how they utilized the Authoritative Literature because it seems like I did not take full advantage of it although I did try. Thanks guys! 🙂

I think it all depends on the type of sim you get. I used it for 2 sims and part of 1 sim, but couldn't use it the rest. If you get a sim asking you what phrases you should use in a report or whether a situation requires modification of a report, it'll be in the literature. But if they're asking how a certain transaction affects B/S, I/S, R/E, then you're not going to find the answer and you'll have to rely on your solid understanding of accounting.

If you haven't done so already, go here to register to get 6-month subscription to AICPA literature:

Luckily they're all boys who passed, I'm bound to pick up some good tips! 🙂 I need to learn from my mistakes before this becomes a pattern.

@DavidB, I just had my mom read that for me & translate haha! While I'm from Ukraine, I only know how to speak Russian. I cannot read nor write!
