Just got my Audit score and ended up with a 71. Majorly bummed as this is my first fail and I thought I had been prepared. I guess it goes to show that feeling like you passed= a fail. I was kinda surprised because I had an 80 on Beckers final exam so this is the first time I’ve gone down substantially instead of up. I was planning on doing REG next but it looks like I’ll loop back towards Audit. I wanted to get AUD & REG done before I started work in January but now I’m not sure this is possible! Any advice on how to move forward or similar experiences would be great.

    FAR 4/9/12- PASSED
    BEC 7/13/12- PASSED
    AUD 8/16/12- Ughhh 71, Rematch: 90!!!
    REG-12/6/12 PASSED

Mini I will definitely contact you both! How much time do you think I will need for a restudy? I'm sad right now but starting tomorrow I am planning on taking this bitch down.

@mg – shit! Sorry to hear this! I was rooting for you. I got a 71 as well and I got right back on the horse, studied for 3 weeks and passed. It was only a 76, but hey, a pass.

Be sad, get pissed and then come up with a plan of attach. That's how you'll beat this thing. You got this girl!

How was your vacation? Nice to see you back! Sorry about your score, but I'm sure you will crush it the next time!

    REG - 80 (Becker only)
    BEC - 76 (Becker only)
    AUD - 71, 76 (Becker only)
FAR - 65, 74, 81! (Becker, Wiley Test Bank, Ninja notes & Audio)

I was going to say three weeks, four weeks tops for a re-study. I would schedule for the 1st and postpone a couple of days if you need to. You'll get it this time, no worries.

Thanks so much Mrs 300. Vacation was really nice, hopefully I'm rejuvenated enough to tackle these next few difficult months coming up. Any advice on how to go about this restudy? I'm pretty sure I'll find out that SIMs were probably where I went awry on this one. You know the funny thing is the fail isn't really even a confidence killer because I think I can do it, I'm just more upset about tacking on more study time haha

My retake strategy for AUD was the following:

    1) Start over. Don't cut any corners. You need 75 points. You don't need 4. Study like you got a 30.

    2) In one of the lectures, Tim Gearty says that when you're doing the multiple choice questions in the software, read the question. Then look up, try and come up with the answer, and THEN look at the choices. If you come down to 2 answers that seem right, the one that you thought of when you looked up was the correct answer. This helped me so much with AUD because I really struggled with the way the questions were worded. I'd always get it narrowed down to the 2 best answers, but I had trouble choosing.

    3) Learn how to use the authoritative literature to answer the SIMS. For AUD, I believe you can answer 60% of the SIMS w/ the AL! (I'm sure you did this, but I didn't the first time and I was happy I went through it again).

The studying sucks. I was shocked when I failed AUD b/c it was my first fail. But we're all behind you! The sacrifice is temporary!

    @mgoloubenko

I am so sorry you didn't pass. I don't remember who did this; but someone went to a shooting range to get “even” with the score…. Try that out and go back to study… You will find yourself relaxed and with a clear mind to start all over with AUD.

    @DavidB1990

Why don't you consider taking FAR instead of repeating any other first? I think this test is the one to start with… I think it helps you understand many of the concept in AUD, BEC, and REG.

    B - 62, 70, 72, 79!!!
    A - 68, 81
    R - 70, 82
    F - 84

Sorry to hear about your score. We were FAR and BEC buds. I agree with everyone here. Take the exam the 1st or 2nd week of Oct. If you need more time, take it in the middle of 2nd week because the worst thing you can do is cut corners and take it unprepared. Take a couple days off and you'll still have 6-7 weeks for REG.

I don't know how long it takes to re-register for a section for NASBA states, but in CA, it takes a while. You may want to register as soon as possible to ensure you can test that 1st or 2nd week.

@mgoloubenko, yucko yucko yuck. So sorry to hear about this 🙁 You are always such a positive voice on this board.

Just fyi – you're in great shape to get AUD & REG done before you start work in January. I am super over-preparer and knocked out both those sections in 3 mos while unemployed. And I know many people would say that was total overkill. Particularly since one is a retake & you were so close to passing, it should take less prep time.

Best of luck!! Fight on 😉

The most difficult part will be mentally not skipping parts “because I like totally know this”, definitely have to start fresh but instead of watching lectures I will use NINJA notes and Becker Flashcards. I'll also amp up my study time to about 6 hours so I can get close to the 120 hour mark by test day. I believe I have to wait two days to reregister. Once again, thanks for the love and support. I'll get through this!

I know this goes against everyone's advice but Ill give it anyway. Id move on to REG and then circle back to AUD. I would have found it extremely boring to re-study to the same section back to back. REG will give you some new topics, new drive and time to forget about AUD. Everyone says that AUD will be fresh in your mind, but you took the exam over a month ago, is it that fresh still? Either way you are going to have to start studying from scratch. REG in mid OCT, AUD end of NOV.

    REG- 81
    BEC- 72,76
    AUD- 67,88
    FAR- 78

I just received my first fail on my first test (aud). I really felt like I knew most of the information very well. I have been studying for FAR for the past 2-3 weeks and have it scheduled for Oct 24. Do you guys think that I should study both at the same time?

i got a fail in aud too. 54!!! 🙁 when i got out i had no clue how i did. i was confused and dazed. people asked me how did you do i didnt know how to answer. thought i didnt think i did THAT bad.

Mrs 300 is right. we need to study like we got a 30 well mine is close anyway. lol

i'm planning to take it on Oct 5th. i feel that just re-studying the same section is definetly a good idea. i took it on Aug 31st so it was only 11 days ago. starting with modual 1 Becker. i dont think i have it in me to watch tim gerrety again!!!

who's taking it on the OCT 5th? can we set up a study group here and come and post what we did that day. just a way to support each other.
