Hi Y’all,

First time poster here with a question that may seem a little simple-minded… but I planned on taking AUD as my first section to get out the way, but in studying and preparing for the exam (to be taken about mid-July/early August), should I just wait for 2014 updates to AUD review materials since the test is changing effective 7/1? I wanted to get a jump on studying, but what’s the point of doing so if the materials for 2013 were made at least a half-year before being issued? If push comes to shove, I’ll just go on and get FAR out the way, but I just wanted others’ insight and opinions. Thanks.

From what I have read, it is drastically changing. It is my understanding that only the professional responsilbities section remains the same. I know CPA Excel are supposed to be updating their software on June 1st, not sure on other companies. My advice would be to wait to study audit until you have updated material, or to concentrate on a different exam to take first so you can start studying right away.

Thanks for the input. I think I'll just hold off on auditing until new material has been released. It'll save me a whole bunch of headache and holes in my pockets. On to FAR!
