I test for Audit next week – How much time should I allow for each testlet?

For FAR, I was advised on this forum, to allow 40 minutes for each MCQ testlet. So, that’s what I did.

What is a good timing “budget” for AUDIT?

I’m afraid to go too fast and not be able to think through the questions carefully, making careless mistakes,

But, also don’t want to steal too much time away from SIMS.

What’s the best balance?

FAR - 86 - 2/27/14
AUD - 75 - 5/29/14
BEC - 80 - 8/31/14
REG - 89 - 2/27/15

I would suggest leaving about 2 hours for the sims. I spent 30 min on the first 2 test lets and then close to 40-45 min on the 3rd one as it was harder than the other 2. I then took a quick break as I did not want to go into sims with a growling stomach. I started the sims with about 2:05 min left and I used every single minute of it.

There are some ppl here who take much less time than that but why not take advantage of the time you r given and up your chances of passing.

I concur with the PP. I left about 2hrs for the SIMS and used all of it. I usually finished the MCQ testlets within 30 min and used about 5-10 to go over each one, no matter how confident I was about them.

I think I did about 40 minutes per testlet which included a review of all the questions in the testlet again. I left approximately 2 hours for the SIMs. I think it all comes down to your comfort level of the information which determines your speed.

For Audit, since there are hardly any computations, 30-45 min per test let is a reasonable amount of time. You might want to practice that by doing 30 MCQ sets to see how you do on time. You mentioned you spent 40 min on each FAR testlet so I am sure you can easily do the same for Audit.
