I don’t know how to budget my time with the new format. If there’s 3 sections of MCQ’s it seems to make sense to give myself an hour for each of the multiple choice and an hour for the simulations. But is that enough for the simulations? For those of you who have done simulations under the new format, how much time did you give yourself?

    FAR 82
    AUD 81 (2007), 73, 80
    REG 68 (2010), 76
    BEC 58 (2007), 75 DONE!!!!

I gave myself 45 minutes for each of the MCQ testlets and 90 minutes for the simulation testlet. I'm not sure I needed that much time for any of them.

    BEC - 10/18/2010 - 79
    FAR - 10/28/2010 - 82
    AUD - 11/04/2010 - 73; 02/18/2011 - 86 - IT'S OVER!!!!!!
    REG - 11/21/2010 - 83

I planned for 45 minutes for each MCQ and 1.5 hours for Sims.. however I finished the entire exam in 3 hours including taking 2 breaks!

Go as slow as you need on the MCQ.

smrichard- For what it's worth, I just took AUD yesterday and this was my experience….Blew through the first section. Took a break. The remaining two MCQ sections were progressively more difficult but didn't take too long. I finished the first three sections at exactly the two-hour mark. Thought I was going to get out of there with plenty of time to spare, then came the TBS and, well, it was not what I was expecting. Difficult and time consuming. I actually took the full two hours to complete the simulation. Ended the exam with a minute left on the clock.

Hope this provides some helpful insight.

Thanks Billy…I had a very similar experience today. I breezed through the first testlet, second one took longer, and was finished with the third right at the two hour mark. I took nearly the entire two hours on the simulations. So glad I had that extra time!!!

Get got out of my test and figured I would throw my two cents in here. I had a similiar experience to the last two posts. First 30 MC were easy, the second and third testlets were progressively harder than the first. I had about 2 hours and 15 minutes remaining to do my SIMS. I thought the SIMS were great in this format, I only had one SIM were I thought a third grader wrote it b/c of the unclearity of the questions and reponses. The SIMS took me about 1:30 to finish but that was b/c I reviewed them over and over again. I would suggest taking FAR before this exam however if possible, might help you out as it did me. Overall, I enjoyed this test compared to FAR, which I thought was impossible when I left the test center. Now we play the waiting game till we all get our results.

    Cheers to no more studying……..

I flew through the MC. Becker had me very prepared for that. Got the MC done in about 1 hour and 15 min, Sims were much, much harder than I was expecting. Took about an 1.5 hours on those becase I had to read things through so many times

    BEC - 86
    AUD - 94
    REG - 88
    FAR - 89
