So failed AUD 2X and would like to not repeat the past, I am utilizing Becker and was wondering if any chapters in particular correlate with the topics that I did not score well on : 1) Evaluating and Reporting 2) Accounting and Review Services. If not through Becker are there any other material providers that do well with honing in on these areas? Thank you for all of your help!

Hi Everyone,

I keep getting mixed up about lack of obtaining sufficient appropriate audit evidence. If there is a lack of sufficient appropriate audit evidence, is that a qualified or disclaimer of opinion?

Can this also be an adverse opinion?

It has not clicked for me yet so I will need more practice with the MCQ for Becker to fully understand this particular topic.

@Papogator24 You have to think about the GAAS departures and GAAP departures. Adverse opinion is only for GAAP departures. So if you are lacking sufficient appropriate evidence and you cannot perform other procedures that would compensate for this lack of evidence then you would Disclaim an opinion. Disclaimers are only for GAAS departures.

AccountingGirl009 all the other review courses cover those areas. The only thing I can tell you is to work the questions in those sections and truly understand why the correct answer is correct and why the incorrect answer options are incorrect. Another thing to remember is to not focus on just your weak areas. Restudy the whole exam. As a lot of people on the forum usually say, you dont need just a few points to pass you need 75 points.

I focused on my weak areas the last exam and I ended up scoring lower than the time before then.

Can someone tell me, what is the appropriate Opinion to be issued for this situation? My review material said “Unmodified Opinion. what do you think is the reason why? Please enlighten me. Thank you Ninjas!

“The only scope limitation and reporting problem during the current-year audit of the balance sheet only was that the auditor did not observe a client's taking of beginning physical inventory and was unable to become satisfied about the inventory by means of other auditing procedures”

@warrior – the sentence provided is referencing only the balance sheet, not the other statements. Since the current year balance sheet is an as-of statement for the end of the year, ending inventory is the amount in scope on that statement. They are able to observe this amount, so no concern there equals an unmodified opinion.

The other statements will result in either a qualified or disclaimer of opinion due to the scope limitation since their fair presentation depends on the change during the year.

retake audit. The material are still fresh in your mind. rework the problem, know the difference why the answer is correct and not correct.
