Any tips for Chapter 4 of Becker, particularly Transaction Cycles? Its like I need to go get a job in an AR dept for 2 months just to get it.

@hugemistake, there are some questions like that on Becker too. I am using Becker and Ninja MCQ

@Dover, I am having a hard time with Chapter 4 as well, just listen to the lecture over and over, while you drive, while you are walking, and practice practice MCQ

@hugemistake, I'm not memorizing all the specifics of the SOX act. With Ninja, the title of the section in the question leads you to the correct answer.

@hugemistake, just saw another note from you. When I see the word “examination” I automatically think of SAS or SSAE standards, not reviews standards.

For an examination, the auditor provides an actual opinion (positive assurance) vs. a review that only states there is no knowledge of a material modification that needs to be made (negative assurance).

@pracap go with NINJA. Pretty much the same questions, but Wiley doesn't have the adaptive learning feature which by it's self is worth the $47.

Taking the exam tomorrow. Any suggestions on an efficient way to navigate and find what you're looking for in the Authoritative Literature for the sims? Also how much in the AL actually helps when answering the non research questions?

    Thanks

    AUD: 62 [2/27/15], 87 [5/29/15]
    REG: 76 [5/1/15]
    BEC: 86 [7/20/15]
    FAR: 76 [8/28/15]

    DONE!

@jostrowski, just be as specific as possible when you search.

For REG the AL answered half of the SIMS I was working on. So if you have time I would definitely use it.

Good luck tomorrow, you're going to dominate!

Anyone can tell me why this is a financial projection and not a forecast thx

Widgets, Inc., produces its widgets in Arcacia, and its major markets are both Arcacia and Atlantica. Due to political turbulence in Atlantica, Widgets prepares its PFS to reflect what would happen if widgets could no longer sell its products in Atlantica.

    @trish

The key word: HYPOTHETICAL assumptions (what would happen if…).

Financial forecast—. A financial forecast is based on the responsible party's assumptions reflecting the conditions it expects to exist and the course of action it expects to take.

Financial projection— A financial projection is sometimes prepared to present one or more hypothetical courses of action

for evaluation, as in response to a question such as, “What would happen if . . . ?”

I found it very confusing as well when doing the MCQ

Thanks CPAbefore40. makes sense now, for some reason, I was thinking that there had to be atleast 2 hypothetical assumptions for it to be a projection. What would happen if is the key question to ask 🙂 .

I haven't used Becker, but I'm using CPAExcel and NINJA MCQ. Personally, I like NINJA MCQ better when just practicing MCQs. A lot easier to use.
