ladybossxo, in my experience, Becker sucks at teaching Audit. Becker is great for a practicing Auditor who just needs guidance as to what to study in a review setting (becker is great for that). I got a 72 on my first try with Audit and di not complete the research portion, so I might have gotten a 74 based on content knowledge. You should try Roger CPA Audit course, he really teaches Audit as if you never seen it before, the problem with him is that he skips little details that make a difference during the exam. Since Becker provides those details, and you have already used them 4 times, you will benefit a great deal with Roger cpa.

Count me in as one of the 72's … I mean it was the SIMS that got me … Any advice on how to practice those? I have Becker and Wiley and just bought Ninja

I'm about to start studying for FAR, I heard its a lot of information but not as hard as audit since audit is so dense, anyone have input on that?

We have like 5 people who scored a 72 including you. How were you guys doing on MC test banks before the exam>? I had an average of 85 in both Becker and Wiley. My average on Roger was 90, but Roger's test bank is too easy. I also got Ninja before the exam and my average dropped to 74. I guess I did not practice enough simulations. I experienced the same with FAR,but I thought it was mainly because almost all of the simulations from FAR contain JEs, and u need to practice them to be able to pass.

@Martin Thank you for your input. I have passed the other 3 sections, so it is only Audit that's killing me. I just need to practice SIMS. When I looked at my report, it felt like I probably got like 13/40 on SIMS. How about you? Did you pass the other sections as well??

I don't know what else to do. It is not that I don't understand the materials at all. It is more like I don't understand what to do when they ask a question like this person recorded the entry in sales journal but forgot to record it in A/R ledger, as an auditor, what should you do? I am not good in those internal control questions and ratios. Those are my weakest and this time, I just want to spend more time on practicing SIMS

Lady, I am in your boat sims killed me. And my weak area is like yours. I find my material does not cover that area sufficient was wondering about ninja SIMs does it give adequate exposure on those topics?

trish_1234, I did not do enough simulations either. I got my score report today. Weak on simulations and I/C.

ladybossxo, Audit is my second part. I got a 71 on FAR and then 84 after practicing simulations, I did not follow my own advice as far as simulations.

Compare sales invoices to general ledger? This is the type of question I could answer on a MC,but might get it wrong on a simulations if I dont have many options.

Trish! NINJA SIMS do cover ratios and internal control related questions. But the ratio questions are not anywhere close to what we see on the actual exam. They are more of like plug in questions. I hate ratio questions when they ask you what causes this to decrease/increase and I am reading the answer choices thinking to myself, I DON'T KNOW.

NINJA does a good job with the internal control questions. Even having the answers in front of me, I still don't understand why that's the correct answer to a point I am just memorizing the answers which is not a good idea. Obviously when it comes to exam time, the questions are different and I just don't know how to answer them.

And with my luck, I barely get any questions that are word for word from the AL, even though this is my 4th try.

When do you plan to retake? I am thinking April 18th. Hopefully there are still spots available.

@Martin: But with SIMS, there are usually like 18 options for only 6 questions. Oh that's good, you got FAR out of the way! When do you plan to retake your exam?

I have already scheduled for the 7th, I wanted to take it as soon as possible since I can recall 80% of the info. You guys should do something similar. I would only advice differently if the candidate score in the 60s. I have increased my average from 74 to 82 on Ninja. I will continue on working with ninja MC and simulations from Gleim,Wiley, and Becker.

I scheduled for April 9th….figure better to do it sooner than later since I remember most of the material. Just needed 5 more points to get a passing score.

@ Martin jezus, u have a lot of materials to study from. omg idk if I should buy ninja. Good point, def gonna take exam first week of april.

@Lady, I might buy ninja. Im using Gleim which is pretty good. I nailed mcq Gleim prepared me well for those.

Whenever u come across a tricky question post it here and we will try to make sense of it together. all I know abt ratios is that denominator decrease ratio increase, numerator increase ratio increase lololol…

So did FAR material help you with AUD some? I didnt take FAR was thinking of studying it to help me with AUD!

the last time I scheduled the exam I had so many choices of dates that I was going to wait until the 1st to schedule. I am going to take the exam early in the month wanna make it in the first batch of results. Out of experience do u guys think I could have a hard time findiing a spot. Ill call em tomorrow and ask to be safe.

I am beginning to freak-out, I procrastinated all week -_-
