    FAR_WARS – how did you know if question is asking about issuer or nonissuer? Should we just assumed is always non issuer? but if specifically says issuer – we know than, am I correct?

    Yes, rule of thumb in audit is to assume non-issuer unless stated otherwise.

    I have struggled with AUD because, in my opinion, some of the questions are so subjective that they are not fair.

    For example:

    An auditor concludes that there is substantial doubt about an entity's ability to continue as a going concern for a reasonable period of time. If the entity's disclosures concerning this matter are adequate, the audit report may include a(an):

    Disclaimer of opinion (yes or no)
    “Except for” qualified opinion (yes or no)

    Yes, No is correct.

    I understand that an adequately disclosed going concern doubt will not CAUSE a qualified opinion. But what on earth is preventing something that is not being mentioned from being the cause of a qualified opinion?

    @ruggercpa2b prometric always sends a reminder email few days before the exam. as long as you have your NTS, i wouldn't worry what time. or you can google your mailbox or call them, whichever is easier.

    @FARWARS:

    You can always disclaim an opinion. Issuing an except for in regards to going concern doesn't make sense to me. Also like piece mailing it.

    Hey guys, got a question here…

    Which of the following procedures would yield the most appropriate evidence?

    A. A scanning of trial balances

    B. An inquiry of client personnel

    C. A comparison of beginning and ending retained earnings

    Correct D. A recalculation of bad debt expense

    Why would this answer be the most appropriate? The answer explanation doesn't give much information.

    FAR - 75 (2/25/16)
    AUD - 80 (4/8/16)
    REG - 80 (6/10/16)
    BEC - 79 (7/19/16)

    You only get one shot with the spirit bomb.

    @THEUNEXPERIENCED

    Information obtained directly by the auditor yields the most appropriate evidence. Given the choices, the auditor recalculating bad debt is most appropriate.

    Anyone have and good ideas on how to remember which professional standards apply to issuers and non issuers? I found the following link that lists applicable standards to non issuers: SAS, SSAE, &, SQCS
