hokinizeu – i just read a thread on main page about discrepancy between nasba and iowa on section expiration dates. please confirm your expiration with your state board asap to confirm your exam date. i would hate for you lose far because of a misunderstanding on dates.

    @PAYAZA

I am terrible at explaining why I would have guessed A but to me it makes sense. If there is an indirect relationship, to me that means you can't put much assurance on it., which in turn would cause it to be less effective.

    -----------------------------
    BEC - 77, 03/2015 (first try)
    FAR - 79, 05/2015 (second try)
    REG - 83, 12/2015 (first try)
    AUD - 84, 03/2015 (first try)

I got 99 problems but the CPA ain't one.

thank you moniker, that is an effort well spent to research. i'll follow up with nasba and my state board of acct.

@payaza2000 A makes the most sense to me if you flip the wording of answer A like below.
the more direct the relationship, the more effective that control may be.

original: A. The more indirect the relationship, the less effective that control may be.

i would say it's just a poorly worded question b/c you can argue direct relationship does not translate to effective control…

Hey guys one last thing, at this point I should just be doing NINJA MCQ & SIMS, and reading the questions (and accompanying information) thoroughly? My exam is Wednesday.

    FAR 5/6/2015- 84
    REG 8/3/2015 - 87
    AUD 10/25/2015- 69 1/20/2016 -75
    BEC 2/26/2016- 80

Yes. And as you work through sims pay close attention to the wording of the instructions and the question. Then review answers carefully to align what they asked with the correct answer.
Hit your weak areas hard in mcq's while refreshing everything. Good luck!

Hokinizeu – i am glad you heard back from NASBA but does their response agrees with your state board? That whole iowa thread i read seemed to indicate that nasba said one thing and the state said the other. Do they both set expiration date by exam date or by end of test window?
My letters come from NC board, not NASBA, and NC Bd has cleary set the expirations for both of my sections to 18 months to the day from my original exam dates. I never see anything from nasba so i can't compare or know if they conflict. I think the state rules/law sets expiration.

    Good morning,
I am looking for some advice on the TBS questions. I have been over the material and am crushing the MCQs in Roger, CPA Excel and Ninja. However, I am getting destroyed on lots of the non-research questions in CPA excel. I just don't seem to be able answer them correctly. Unlike MCQs, there are not thousands of them to study. I already see the same ones over and over.
    Thanks!

I passed BEC and got a 74 on REG. I quit my job so I could knock these out faster. If I can get through AUD, then I will be in good shape.

When communicating internal control related matters noted in an audit, an auditor's report issued on significant deficiencies should indicate that:

    Incorrect:
misstatements may occur and not be detected because there are inherent limitations in any internal control.

    Correct:
the purpose of the audit was to report on the financial statements and not to provide assurance on internal control.

    In the solution it mentioned:
The written communication regarding significant deficiencies and material weaknesses identified during the audit of financial statements should:include a statement that indicates the purpose of the auditor's consideration of internal control was to express an opinion on the financial statements, but not to express an opinion on the effectiveness of the entity's internal control over financial reporting.

I thought as part of an integrated an audit an auditor had to asess the effetivess of the internal controls?

@moniker yeah, i got another person's response and my case is being handled by the VA care personnel. i'm waiting on the answer.

@for425 when you encounter any Audit questions, you're supposed to assume it's for non-public unless the question specifically mentions public or sec registrant or something of that nature.

Finished my AUD today, awaiting for score. MC was basically IC question. Basically you should know IC in Audit (Issuer and Non-issuer), Review, Agreed upon Procedure, and Compilation. If you know these, you do great on MC. As for simulations, very tough..

Time to move on to REG.

    BEC - Passed - 7/27/15 - 25%
    FAR - Passed - 10/1/15 - 50%
    REG - Passed - 4/19/16 - 75%
    AUD - Schedule - 5/24/16
