Well I felt very confident when I sat for AUD on November 23rd… just found out I made a 73… I plan on retaking January 2nd. My office is closed the entire week before, so I can do nothing but study…

This happened to me on REG and I purchased the Roger Cram course and raised my score to an 81. I felt a lot less confident on that test.

Any advice to prepare to retake AUD?

    REG -73 (8/2015) 81 (10/2015)
    AUD - 73 (11/2015) 84 (1/2016)
    BEC - 84 (2/2016)
    FAR - 77 (6/2016)

Looks like I'll be on board with you guys. Just got the score for my 11/30 exam… a 72. As bad as FAR was, I at least walked out of the exam knowing what my weak areas were. With AUD, I'm really not sure. It's such a “big picture” kind of exam that I don't really know any way to study other than just working back through everything from the beginning.

I studied with Roger and Ninja notes the first time around. I'm considering giving the Roger Cram Course a try.

    FAR - 74 (7/20/15), 81 (10/12/15)
    AUD - 72 (11/30/15), 81 (1/18/16)
    BEC - 87 (6/6/16)
    REG - 8/8/16

@Greggarypeccary – I feel the same way. When I failed REG I knew what to study…. with AUD I felt confident on everything. I guess I just have to start over.

I used Wiley CPAExcel and watched Roger's youtube videos. I'm thinking of supplementing with Ninja MCQ.

    REG -73 (8/2015) 81 (10/2015)
    AUD - 73 (11/2015) 84 (1/2016)
    BEC - 84 (2/2016)
    FAR - 77 (6/2016)

@amandafaith15 – What did you think about the Roger Cram Course for REG? I'm considering buying it for AUD, but it's not cheap. Did you feel it was a good value? I'm definitely not looking forward to sitting through all of those hours of lecture videos again, so a condensed version sounds tempting.

    FAR - 74 (7/20/15), 81 (10/12/15)
    AUD - 72 (11/30/15), 81 (1/18/16)
    BEC - 87 (6/6/16)
    REG - 8/8/16

@Greggarypeccary – I felt that it was a very good summary and helped to keep my focus after already learning all the material. I'm not the biggest fan of Roger's style and after awhile I got annoyed with it. I'm not sure how it compares to his full length courses, but I felt it was a good review and summary.

    REG -73 (8/2015) 81 (10/2015)
    AUD - 73 (11/2015) 84 (1/2016)
    BEC - 84 (2/2016)
    FAR - 77 (6/2016)

Well folks, after pulling a 72 in Audit I am back to the Audit study group. I should have known when I left the exam feeling confident it was a fail. I see some of you are in the same boat as me. January will be our month to pass Audit. Let's do this!!!!

i'm in the same boat with you guys, i got 72 for the 3rd time! i need to yell to let out my frustration so i can reset to start all over. i felt pretty comfortable coming out of the exam. AUDIT is so unpredictable…

    ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i'm just not too sure at this point. i really do need to pass on the next window; otherwise FAR expires. i'm contemplating getting Becker question banks…

    Pencil me back in!

I literally went from an 85 in REG to a 59 in AUD….in 6 weeks. I'm slightly discouraged as a near 20 points is a LOT to jump forward, but looking @ Hokinizeu's scores, I know it can be done. You increased your scores by a huge chunk between your 1st and 2nd in AUD, I can too! You will push yourself forward.

I'm going to read the AICPA/PCAOB standards and not just Becker this time. I will be purchasing NINJA too. I got about a month to build upon what I was doing in Q4. I *WILL* do it.

    BEC: 77 (08/20/15)
    REG: 85 (10/10/15)
    AUD: 59, 78 (01/06/16) NINJA MCQ IS A LIFESAVER!!!!
    FAR: 77 (6/8/16)

ALL DONE!!! I AM PROOF THAT ANYONE CAN DO IT.

    #746804

@swim4life107 Yes, you can increase your score for sure!

NOTE: I got 56 on Audit while using Becker material and Wiley test banks. I moved onto a Yaeger program and got 72, still Wiley test banks. And then moved onto Ninja MCQ last 2 72's.

Do you not think Becker MCQ is a good resource? I'm considering to buy it.

I thought Becker MCQs really helped me on BEC and REG. Most of the questions on the actual exam felt familiar. This time, I really felt the Becker MCQs left me hanging and gave me a false sense of security. I was starting to get a good handle on the questions by the time I finished the review. I always feel at the end of these testing cycles if I just had an extra few days/weeks to polish everything, I would really be good. I guess now I'll get the chance to find out since I always passed before and never had to find out.

I felt the exam hosed me. Based on the amount of Becker questions (and emphasis) on the
-Transaction cycles/the audit procedures (how they correlate to each assertion)
-Sampling Risks (such as Alpha and Beta concerns)
    -PPS Sampling,

I felt I almost got no questions on it. At least not the ones I was expecting. I got quizzed on such trivial bullcrap. I couldn't even tell you the type of questions I got on the exam because they felt so inconsequential. I thought I did well on the SIMS because I found a lot of the exact answers in the Authoritative Literature. The one question I probably nailed was probably the SIM they didn't score. LOL.

Hey guys!! I hope you all survived last night's score release. So brutal!! I just found out that I passed FAR, and I am hoping to sit for Audit before busy season gets too crazy.

Any thoughts on whether or not a month and a half is enough time to study? My goal was to take the exam on 01/25/16.

    FAR (11/30/15):82
    AUD (01/25/16)
    REG: TBD
    BEC: TBD

@hoki & @swim I used NINJA and felt confident that I was learning and grasping the material very well. My issue was that I did not make it to the Review phase and I was trending around 76. My strategy this time around is to make it to review phase and trend an 85. The first available test date in Jan 4, so I have 3 1/2 weeks to make it happen. I am confident that we can do it.

@hoki did you make it to the review phase of NINJA?

Thanks @CPAlife04. I guess the difference with AUD and BEC/REG, is I felt I had the foundation in my education to build from. With Audit, my professor gave us a semester long “mock audit” project that consumed much our time. We weren't learning the foundation that would prepare us for the CPA exam. I use to read the crappy book that supplemented the course, and the readings rarely prepared me for the questions (which were CPA bank questions) that were on class exams.

With the review, I've read the Becker book until I was blue in the face. There is nothing fundamental I don't grasp at this point. I think I just need to learn how to do these questions. It's a different beast.

Some of the SIMs on the exam revolved around stuff that is more suited to FAR (understated accounts and how they affect F/S, etc.). I wasn't prepared for that and there literally isn't anything in any review material that prepares you for that.

    BEC: 77 (08/20/15)
    REG: 85 (10/10/15)
    AUD: 59, 78 (01/06/16) NINJA MCQ IS A LIFESAVER!!!!
    FAR: 77 (6/8/16)

ALL DONE!!! I AM PROOF THAT ANYONE CAN DO IT.

    FAR - Passed - 10/1/15 - 50%
    REG - Passed - 4/19/16 - 75%
    AUD - Schedule - 5/24/16

Material Using - 2015 Wiley CPAexcel Study Guides and Focus Notes
