    Hi guys,

I'm planning to take audit this quarter, any advice?
How's the actual exam, what are the topics heavily tested?
    How to prepare for audit?

Please help me, I only have 3 hours per day to review. I'm using Becker materials…

@4dkids – The questions reads: Holding other planning considerations equal, a decrease in the amount of misstatements in a class of transactions that an auditor could tolerate most likely would cause the auditor to:

If the auditor decreases the amount of misstatements that he/she would tolerate, then he/she is lowering detection risk, which would require more work, or performing the planned auditing procedure closer to the balance sheet date.

    Hopes this helps.

Question: So in the Becker AUD review book, Module 6 page A1-37, in the second Pass Key there is a sentence that states, “When exam questions indicate that the financial statements are false, fraudulent, deceptive or misleading, that management refuses to correct them, and that modification of the CPA' s report is not sufficient to correct the item, the CPA should consider withdrawing from the engagement.” My question is, what if the audit is required by law or regulation, can the auditor actually withdraw from the engagement?

    Thanks a heap!

Hi everyone! Took BEC yesterday. Starting to restudy for AUD today. I am scheduled to take it November 4th. I was scheduled to take AUD on September 9th, but the airline I flew with lost my book. I tried to study without it, but I'm definitely a paper and pencil studier. Good luck to everyone testing.

QALOE4LYFE – No, the CPA cannot withdraw, he/she would need to issue an adverse opinion and state that he/she is unable to withdraw.

    Hope this helps.

    Hi there!

I am planning on taking AUD on October 23rd and I just took my mock exam and scored a 34%.

I feel terrible what do you suggest I do?

    I am using Becker.

    Any suggestions?

@Tina – After I took the 1st mock exam I went though each chapter and took notes in an outline format. After chapter 2 I took a progress test and set the number of questions to 2 for each module in chapter 1 & 2. Then I outlined chapter 3 and take another progress test. 2 questions for each module in chapters 1, 2, and 3. Also, I found it important when I took the test to keep in mind whether I was looking at control or substantive procedures.

I am taking the 2nd mock exam in the morning and testing on Tuesday.

    I hope this helps, goodluck.

@tina, if you genuinely took your time to do the mock exam and you got 34% you have some serious deficiencies you should work on. I would consider pushing my exam back even if it's by just the 30th.

    1. Review what you got wrong on your mock exams, and rework those problems, go to becker module representing those areas, read, watch the video do practice questions and then take another mock exam, if you're trending in th 50's atleast at your second mock exam, then I'd suggest you review your weak areas again, and take another – aim to trend in high 60's or 70's for becker mock exam from what i've seen

Does anyone know if you need to understand internal control with reviews of issuers (PCAOB)? I looked on the PCAOB website and it says that you do but becker is very unclear on it…

    Hi All:

I have a question.. I took the mock exam for AUD and scored a 34%. I feel terrible and i am scheduled to take the actual exam on October 23rd.

Should I review the notecards and try memorizing them?

Will i even pass even if I take the actual exam?

    Please help!!

    Thank you.

Hi Tina, mock exam is different in actual exam. As long as you did your part during your review days and you know the basic concepts, I believe you can pass the actual exam. I suggest read your notes and book again. The actual test focus on concepts. It will help also if you took the FAR exam, because some of the task based simulations are FAR questions like adjusting journal entries. I will take my audit exam next month. But based on FAR Q3 (passed) and BEC Q4 actual exam experiences, the examiners focus on the concepts.
