    Please explain this question.

A CPA’s test of the accuracy of inventory counts involves two storehouses. Storehouse A contains 10,000 inventory items and Storehouse B contains 5,000 items. The CPA plans to use sampling without replacement to test for an estimated 5% deviation rate. If the CPA’s sampling plan calls for a specified reliability of 95% and a tolerable rate of 7.5% for both storehouses, the ratio of the size of the CPA’s sample from Storehouse A to the size of the sample from Storehouse B should be
    A. More than 1:1 but less than 2:1.
    B. 2:1.
    C. 1:1.
    D. More than .5:1 but less than 1:1.
    Answer (A) is correct.
The relationship between population size and sample size is direct. As the population size increases, so does the necessary sample size, although not proportionally. Generally, the population size has very little effect on the sample size when the population is large. According to the AICPA Audit Guide Audit Sampling, a population greater than 2,000 sampling units is large. If the population has between 200 and 2,000 sampling units, the effect on the sample size is small. For smaller populations, sample size is reduced by the effect of population size. Thus, more items would have to be sampled from Storehouse A than from Storehouse B, but not twice as many.

I'm having trouble with studying for Audit. I test this Saturday. I took my first mock exam and made a 57. I have been taking progress test 36 MQCs each time and have been making in the 60s and 70s. I made a 53 on MCQs for the mock. I made a low mock exam scores on FAR but passed the real exam. I don't know if I just suck at mock exams or what, but I genuinely feel comfortable with most of the information, so I don't know what to do.

    Hi Everyone,

I took FAR last friday(10/27) & just started studying for AUD on Monday. My test is scheduled for Dec 7th. Hoping I will have enough time to get through it all. Hoping for 2 passes on the 19th, but one would be just as nice.

    Good luck to everyone!

    Hi;

My name is Kara and I work at a small public accounting firm in Ohio. I am an auditor and have been for a year and half so I am hoping that helps me pass this monster! I am taking Audit the last week in November, I am hoping that is enough time as I am starting studying tonight using Becker! I just took FAR on Halloween!

    Hi guys!

I feel like I'm super confused about this…
One of the Ninja sims it says that for determining sample size you do not consider Control Risk or Risk of Assessing Control Risk too Low. Yet in another one I did, the solution says that the risk of assessing control risk too low DECREASES your sample size.

    Can someone explain the difference?

Exam tomorrow morning.. Studying was somewhat derailed by government audit busy season. I completed modules A1-A4 in Becker and then switched over to NINJA notes and NINJA multiple choice for a more comprehensive approach (module by module in Becker was way too time consuming for me and I was falling behind as work picked up).

Hopefully between all that and my couple years of audit, I can scrape the 75. Either way, after tomorrow, I am picking up the FAR material and trying to knock that out by the second week of February.

Good luck and happy audit trails to all…

The exam went okay — I keep going back and forth between if I passed or not. I feel like it is a total toss up. We'll find out in December!
